Is going to the toilet - or not going to the toilet - something that worries you?

Do you experience discomfort from infrequent bowel movements, straining, or that frustrating sensation of never feeling quite finished on the toilet?

You might be experiencing constipation.

Bowel disorders are more common than you think, yet many avoid seeking help due to fear or embarrassment. Remember, you're not alone.

If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor or healthcare professional. They can help diagnose the cause and recommend effective treatment options.

Bowel problems are one of the major challenges in the daily lives of people living with spinal cord injury (SCI). Bowel problems can place major restrictions on daily life. This may be due to both a direct impact on health and indirect consequences, such as stigma or fear of bowel incontinence.

Bowel irrigation can be a solution for those with a spinal cord injury to get better control over their bowel and improve quality of daily life.

RYK, the Danish Spinal Cord Injuries Association have collaborated with healthcare professionals and people with a spinal cord injury to create a series of films to raise the awareness of bowel irrigation as a treatment. It not only has physiological effect, but also brings a profound improvement to everyday life.

If you're facing symptoms of a bowel disorder, it’s not something you need to keep living with in silence. You can seek professional advice from a healthcare professional, who can diagnose the cause of your symptoms and suggest treatment options.

Even though discussing your bowel problems may feel uncomfortable, remember, it's a step towards long-term well-being.

Your mental health matters, and getting the support you need is crucial.

💧Practical preparation
Convenient features make the water bag easy to set up: the wide neck and handle, and lid that can simply be flipped open and closed.

💧Easy assembly
Klick is easy to put together, and with the click connections on the tube and catheter, you hear a 'click' for reassurance that it is connected correctly.

💧Your preference
Place the water bag on the floor or a nearby surface and use the lightweight and compact pump to irrigate. Or hang it on the wall and let gravity do the work.

💧Logical
The control unit guides you through the irrigation procedure in 4 steps, with the option to pause and go at your own pace.

💧Smooth feel
The soft and flexible catheter is ready-lubricated; just dip it in water. The wide base provides a controlled and comfortable insertion and removal.

A huge thank you to RYK, Egmont Højskolen, the incredible organisers, all the volunteers, families, and participants who made this week so memorable.

Every child has the right to safe, quality healthcare, right from the very beginning. For children living with bowel dysfunction, the journey can sometimes feel isolating and overwhelming for both them and their families.

This World Patient Safety Day, we're reflecting on our journey working with families and children who are living with bowel dysfunction. It is their stories that inspire us to keep developing solutions that can support them, such as Qufora IrriSedo MiniGo small and MiniGo Flex small - both carefully designed with children in mind, as well as the digital game Bowel Buddies.

💚 September is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month

Through the many conversations we’ve had with people living with a spinal cord injury, we understand that changes in bowel control are more than just a medical issue. They can affect confidence, limit independence, and even make everyday activities like working, travelling, or socialising feel overwhelming.

That’s why it’s so important to raise awareness on the impact bowel dysfunction can have, because it’s not always talked about, yet it impacts every part of life.
