About Jacob C. Jørgensen
Jacob C. Jørgensen is an international arbitration and construction lawyer with more than 10 years’ PQE from Swiss, UK and Scandinavian law firms. In 2015, I joined the legal department of the Danish EPC power plant company, BWSC A/S. My work is focused on contentious matters related to the financing, construction and operation of biomass or diesel-fueled power plants worldwide. I dedicate a considerable part of my free time to academic projects and pro bono work. Most recently, I have joined the international organisation, A4ID, as a pro bono lawyer. Since 2011, I have been listed as an arbitration expert in the “Who’s Who Legal” (http://whoswholegal.com/profiles/66471/0/jorgensen/jacob-christian-jorgensen/). In January 2016, I became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Noteworthy Cases:
The “Osteoporosis Cases”
In 2010, I initiated one of Denmark’s largest medical malpractice mass claims on behalf of more than 800 patients suffering from steroid-induced osteoporosis. The cases resulted in significant compensations paid by the Danish state and attracted attention in the national media:

The “Prophet Case”
In 2010 – as a member of an international group of litigators – I successfully negotiated an amicable settlement with the Danish newspaper, Politiken, on behalf of a class of claimants alleging to have been defamed by a cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammed, which had been re-published by Politiken in 2008. The case gave rise to significant media attention both in Denmark and abroad:
