Pain in the neck/shoulder area with numbness in the arms🙏
This condition is often referred to as cervicobrachialgia (neck–arm syndrome) and may be caused by nerve compression or inflammation due to a herniated disc, degenerative changes (osteochondrosis), muscle tension, poor posture, or trauma. Numbness indicates nerve involvement, and its causes can range from an unsuitable pillow or prolonged tension to more serious conditions requiring medical attention.

Possible causes:
Cervical spine problems: Herniated disc, spondylosis, osteochondrosis, vertebral changes.

Muscle and nerve tension: Prolonged tension in the neck and shoulder girdle, compression of nerve plexuses.

Joint disorders: Arthritis, microtraumas.

Trauma: Injuries to the head, neck, or arms.

Poor posture: During sleep or work (e.g., working at a computer).

What to do?
First, consult a doctor (family physician, neurologist, traumatologist) to determine the exact diagnosis and receive appropriate treatment, especially if numbness is severe, frequent, or if arm weakness develops.

Perform gentle exercises: Carefully do neck and shoulder movements, but stop if the pain increases.

Improve ergonomics: Check whether your pillow is suitable and whether your workstation puts strain on your neck.

Relax the muscles: Warm compresses or deep tissue massage may help release muscle tension.
