Not all yoga practices train the same system.
We train our bodies a lot.
Strength. Mobility. Flexibility.

But we rarely train down-regulation.

A sound yoga bath isn’t passive rest.
It’s a practice that teaches the nervous system to shift gears.

Sound creates rhythm.
Rhythm creates predictability.
And predictability is what the nervous system trusts.

That’s why the body softens without forcing.
Why breath changes on its own.
Why tension releases without stretching.

This practice is for people who move well,

The mind creates entire stories about people and about ourselves.

They don’t reply — they hate you.
They look away — you’re not respected.
They speak sharply — you’re under attack.

And suddenly you’re angry about something that only happened in imagination.

So I come back to facts.
Presence deals with facts.
And not everything needs a reaction.

Some people provoke just to get attention.
If you live in your head, you’ll bite.
You’ll argue. Defend. Explain. Try to win.

Chasing a pose (or your neighbor) → you stop listening inward.

Not for the pose, but for the trust, the laughter and the shared presence.

Bloated. Sluggish. Heavy even though you practice regularly?

That’s rarely a flexibility issue. It’s often a missing twist issue.

Twists are underestimated, but they directly support digestion, circulation and spinal function, if they’re done well.

Why twists matter:
• Gently massage the abdominal organs → support digestion
• Encourage circulation + lymph flow → clear stagnation
• Calm the nervous system through slow breath + rotation
• Teach spinal intelligence: length first, twist second
• Build real balance, not just a pose you survive

If you rush the bind, stand up too fast or collapse the spine, you miss the benefits and wonder why yoga “isn’t working”.

Detox isn’t about depth.
It’s about patience.

Twist → decompress → rise.

P. S. We spend so much time correcting ourselves.
Sometimes the real practice is learning to say thank you to yourself.
After 8 years of practice, I finally learned one real skill:
appreciating myself for who I am — on and off the mat.
Not enough. Not good. Not perfect. Not everything. Not, not, not…
And still… last year I truly felt what it means to thank myself for being me.

~650 classes taught, ~300 practiced — and still learning every day.
This year held burnout, confidence wobbles and the quiet grind of teaching, while trying to stay human in a sometimes strange yoga industry.
Through my students, I found my voice. Through my own practice, I stayed grounded.
Ali Yoga is built on honoring yourself, presence and the willingness to show up — even when it’s not easy.
