NEW MOON -- April 17 (4:51 am PT)
Does life feel heavy or strangely fated right now? There’s a reason.
A rare triple planetary war (graha yuddha) is mounting between conflictive Mars and troubling Saturn and Mercury.
Because this alignment is happening in watery Pisces, tensions on the sea and conflicts on waterways are especially emphasized, including those already unfolding in the Strait of Hormuz.
But this new moon is also a new beginning. It falls at the beginning of the zodiac in , the star of transport, speed, and prana. It supports healing and the clearing of stagnation, both physical and emotional.

At Astanga Yoga Studio we practice and teach Astanga vinyasa yoga in traditional weekdays mysore classes and weekly led classes.
The Astanga method and system was codified by the late Sri T.Krishnamacharya and firstly popularised by the late K. Pattabhi Jois and now currently taught by his grandson R. Sharath Jois at the Sri. K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI), in Mysore, India,
Ashtanga means eight limbs or branches. The third limp; Asana (the yoga posture), is the foundation that purifies and makes the body steady and balanced, creating the proper groundwork for the inner aspects to flourish.
Vinyasa means to synchronize movements with breath. The breath is indeed the central aspect of the practice, not just providing an effective anchor for the mind but creating an inner heat that supports the detoxification of inner organs, joints and tissues.
The term "Mysore style" designates a type of class where the students are expected to gradually memorize a sequence and practice in the pace of their own breath, in the same room as others, developing according to their unique necessities and experience. The role of the teacher is to guide and provide adjustments or assists in the posture.
This approach allows for all levels to be taught at the same time, from beginners to experienced, and instructions to be tailored to the individuals needs and for each person have their own unique experience of the yoga practice.
Anyone of any level is welcome to attend, if you are a beginner we recommend you start at our intro classes we have throughout the month.
We also encourage students to study and practice the other limbs of the Astanga system in an attempt to reach a state of great peace and self-knowledge; yama (moral conduct), niyama (personal conduct), asana (physical movements), pranayama (breathing exercises), pratyhara (sense withdrawal), dharana (concentration), dhyana (meditation) and samadhi (self-knowledge).
