💔More than anything these days, I value that I have the possibility to still breastfeed my toddler.
💪🏽I fought for the beginning of this breastfeeding journey, and then I have had access to enough food to be able to produce milk for 18 months now.
⚠️But 5000km from here, half breastfeeding mothers in Gaza suffers from SEVERE MALNUTRITION.
💧If mothers have no food or water to nourish themselves, they stop producing milk.
💀If access to infant formula is prohibited, the only nourishment a mother can give her baby is her love, her hugs. Day after day, a mother feels her hugs tightening until her baby's tiny body swells and fades away.
💫What I am doing is a privilege that I have no intention to waste. Breastfeeding a toddle is so many things....
Is immunity, nutrients, emotional nourishment, safety, play, and it can even become frustration when you have to explain the boundaries.
🌍This week is World Breastfeeding Week, a global campaign to raise awareness and galvanise action on themes related to breastfeeding.
