8 out of 10 life science students feel underprepared for industry careers, and that’s a gap we can’t ignore ❗

📊 A recent survey conducted by Synapse revealed that 82% of life science students don’t feel prepared for careers in biotech, pharma, or startups. It’s a familiar story, and it's exactly what inspired us to launch the BioBusiness Summer School years ago.

Students are especially interested in consulting, entrepreneurship, leadership, and networking, the very skills that aren’t typically taught in science degrees. That’s exactly what the BioBusiness Summer School delivers. 🚅 We’re excited to launch a new travel grant initiative for students based in Odense and Aalborg attending our summer schools.

The grant will be available to selected participants of our two upcoming summer schools:

- BioBusiness Summer School in Copenhagen (1,000 DKK)
- Clinical Summer School in Aarhus (500 DKK)

These 5- and 2-day programmes offer the opportunity to explore two of Denmark’s strongest life science hubs, cities where many students go on to build their careers after graduation. Participants will be selected through our usual application process, and the grant will be provided afterwards to those eligible.

We hope this initiative makes it easier for more students across Denmark to take part, and gives you too the opportunity to explore topics as business and clinical trials, beyond academia.

🎉That is a wrap on the inaugural Synapse Biosolutions Spring School in partnership with Novonesis 🌿

Over three packed days, the 35 participants were able to network with, and hear from biosolutions experts from across the sectors covering topics from legislation to industrial applications and research. From seminars to Q&A sessions to networking activities, the spring school was able to blend theory with interactive activities to get a well rounded and immersive experience within the world of biosolutions 🧫🧪🧑‍🔬

🧑‍🏫 All this knowledge culminated in a Dragons’ Den task where teams were able to pitch their very own biosolution ideas to a panel of experts and their peers. A truly inspiring week for organisers, speakers, and participants alike 🤩

A huge thank you to all our participating speakers, companies and of course our excellent and engaged participants! We look forward to hosting the Biosolutions Spring School again for a new and exciting cohort in 2026 👏🚀
