In life, we work incredibly hard to survive painful experiences. Often, this means shutting down our emotions or hiding away memories that were once too painful to bear.

As students at GIS-International, we explore what happens when the old survival techniques are no longer necessary. In Gestalt therapy, you are offered a space where you can stop working so hard to protect yourself and create a space where your system can finally breathe.

Reducing survival techniques is not about forcing anything. It is about gently discovering that you no longer need to survive in the old way.
