What is the conversation that you are not having with yourself?
To build authentic and meaningful relationships, one fundamental component is to be true to yourself and others.
This means to reflect and understands what thoughts, emotions and behaviours we are engaging with, but also which ones we avoid.
It’s very common to avoid having these difficult conversations with ourselves or others, because our brains are wired to avoid suffering.
But how can we be more willing to take these conversations?
There are psychological strategies that we can use, and that can really make a difference and help you build deeper, more meaningful and authentic relationships.

How do I balance life across family, work, training...
I don't.

"Life balance" is a weak concept.
Behavioural science is clear: there is no point in trying to "balance" life.
What does it even mean? How do you split life?
- 33% family, 33% work, 33% training?
- 50/50?
- 10% training, 10% work, 10% family, 10% friends, 10% fun, 10% sleep, 10% food...

Stressing out to be "in balance" is simply a loosing game, a total waste of time.
Rather, focus on what you need the most, in the present moment.
Some days you'll need to work more.
Other days you'll need to focus on family.
Other days, push on self-care.

Flexibility and adaptability is the key.
Stop trying to be in balance. Focus on the present moment.

Strength training as well as endurance training, reduces anxiety symptoms. The research is clear: this happens because you use your body and basically get out of your own mind and stop overthinking. So, try this protocol: exercise 2-3 times per week for the next 3 to 4 weeks and be amazed by how much this can help reducing your anxiety symptoms. It’s not a magic pill so if you need more support, just contact me: comment here below STRENGTH or send me a DM and I will invite you for a free 30 minutes one-to-one mental coaching call.

Moving towards your goals, has more to do with courage to start and consistency over setbacks, than with motivation and willpower.
Start small, one little step at the time.
Ask for help and support.
and in a few weeks of consistent progress, you’ll be amazed by how far you have gone. Get after it.

M parents ask me: “how do you balance family, work, training…?”
Simply put: I don’t! 😅

What do you mean by balance?
Does it even make sense to speak about balance?

Well, behavioral science tells us a very different story.
Well-being is not about balance.
In fact, every day, week, month, year… is different from the previous one, and you really cannot balance this continuous change.

Rather than focusing on a fixed idealistic “balance”, we should focus on being mentally ready and willing to adapt. In psychology, it’s called “psychological flexibility”.

One day you’re ready for training, but the kids are sick. Another day a meeting is canceled at work, then you can add an extra gym session. One weekend you have your anniversary, so you skip the next morning long run.

Remember this: your well-being starts with being mentally flexible and being ready to adapt your activities and priorities. A fixed approach to living a “balanced life” will never be helpful.

So, rather than thinking “I don’t have time for this” or being focused on what is not working well, try to ask yourself: “what is the smallest thing I can do right now to get closer to my goal?”

After a while, you will find yourself leaving and more balanced and satisfying life 💪🏻😉

Sometimes we train hard, sometimes we train easy.

But what counts most for overall health, is training consistently.

There are many ways to be consistent, but counting on sheer willpower is definitely not one of those ways.

If you are struggling with consistency and accountability, and to keep up with the new habit--we can help.

Comment JA or DM me, and I'll send you my free guide on consistency and habit formation--science based 🤓
