Here’s a funny story…

Back in 1882 there was a small nameless train stop a little north of San Diego, California.

A nearby farmer, John Frazier, discovered a spring on his farm, and he started drinking the water every day. He found that the water reduced his rheumatism, and he started selling the water to the train passengers.

It turned out that the water was highly alkaline and similar to the water from the world-famous health resort of Karlsbad in the Czech Republic, and the small town in California was later renamed Carlsbad.

The word spread, Carlsbad became more and more popular, and even today people flock to buy this alkaline water.

One woman says she drives 48 km to come and buy the water, and she’s been doing that for 10 years!

For others the journey to Carlsbad to get the alkaline water is a regular 3 generations family trip.

The commitment that people show to get this water is remarkable, and I really admire their dedication.

For many years I thought it was the same.

When you’re rich, you have plenty of it all. That must be abundance, right?

No, abundance is an inner value not determined by outer circumstances.

It’s that resourceful or trustful approach to life where there’s no fear of lack. You simply know or trust, that all the things you need or want, will come one way or the other.

You don’t have to chase it, you just have to be open to receive it.

That’s a very powerful understanding and for most people a lifelong lesson to learn.

I often catch myself thinking “If only I had this or that, I’d feel real abundance”, but I know it’s just a trick of the mind.
