🦴 Today is World Osteoporosis Day 🦴
Did you know that in the UK
Around 3.5 million people are living with osteoporosis.
More than 500,000 fragility fractures occur every year.
About 50% of women and 20% of men over the age of 50 will break a bone because of osteoporosis.
Osteoporosis mostly affects women post-menopause — when estrogen levels drop, bone loss rises.
The lifetime chance of a hip fracture in the UK after age 50 is approximately 13.8% for women and 4.8% for men.
You can do a lot to keep your bones strong:
💪 Stay physically active — especially with weight-bearing exercise like walking, running, dancing, and strength training
🥛 Eat a varied diet rich in natural sources of calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D
🚭 Avoid smoking and limit alcohol
☀️ Get daily sunlight — it aids your body’s own production of vitamin D
A healthy lifestyle combined with natural support can make a real difference for your bone health ❤️
