🎉 Celebrating 80 Years & 800 Classes! 🎉

Tomorrow is a very special day at Bikram Yoga Roskilde.

Our beloved yoga grandmother has just turned 80, and tomorrow she will complete her 800th class! 🧘‍♀️❤️

Many of you know her from the studio, where she is always ready to help, welcome students, and share her warmth and positive energy. She is a true inspiration to all of us—showing that age is just a number and that strength, dedication, and joy can continue to grow with the years.

At 80 years young, she is still going strong, practicing regularly and being an important part of our community. We are so proud to celebrate these amazing milestones with her.

Paramahansa Yogananda once said, “Change yourself and you have done your part in changing the world.”
This simple truth sits at the heart of yoga — and it also sits at the heart of the lineage that eventually shaped Bikram Yoga.

Yogananda’s teachings focused on inner transformation through Kriya Yoga, emphasizing that personal change is the foundation for uplifting the world around us. His younger brother, Bishnu Charan Ghosh, carried this philosophy into the physical realm, developing a system of yoga that strengthened the body as a pathway to strengthening the mind. It was under Bishnu Ghosh that Bikram Choudhury trained, learning the therapeutic postures and disciplined approach that would evolve into the 26x2 Bikram Yoga sequence practiced today.

When we step into the hot room, we’re not just doing a workout — we’re stepping into a lineage rooted in both physical mastery and deep spiritual intention.
