Where are you still adapting, even though you no longer want to?
Carnival is the celebration of masks.
Of being someone else for a while.
Playing with roles, identities, and expectations.
But what happens when the celebration is over?
Which mask do you put back on?
Often, we wear them without even noticing:
the mask of adapting, of being strong,
of meeting what we think is expected of us.
Living as who you truly are sometimes asks for something else.
For taking off the mask.
For honestly looking at what feels right for you and what may no longer fit.
After Carnival, the mask can come off.
What remains then?
