I think by far this was my favorite meal. It may have something to do with the fact that this restaurant is owned by Canadians 😊!
I had Mahi Mahi fajitas and a watermelon spritzer. Everything was so fresh and delicious. They were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions thanks in part to my broken Spanish and my Allergic Traveler chef cards. They were so gracious and kind. If you are in the area, you should go!

When in Rome..I mean when in Montreal... I mean when in Puerto Plata?! Wait ? Where am I? What a luxury to be able to eat Smoked Meat in the Caribbean. And it was delicious!

Spent the day discovering the San Frlippe fort. Such a treasure nestled in the bustle of Puerto Plata. It was a nice reprieve from the commotion of the city.

It was a friend's birthday and she wanted to go to a restaurant that I have never been to. What many don't realize, before going to a new (to me) restaurant, I need to vet them. Certain cusines are harder for me to eat, like Italian or Chinese because of my allergens, like eggs, garlic, soy, shellfish etc...

I called the restaurant, spoke with the chef and he came up with some safe options for me. It also helped that we were dining out on a quiet night. The end result? I ate like a queen, and my girl had a fabulous birthday!

What are some tricks that you do to vet the restaurant before attending?

Dinner in Durham. This restaurant was a different type of Indian. Do not go here looking for samosas or chicken tikka. The menu was very sophisticated and allergy friendly. I will definitely be going back.
