Today, February 25th, we commemorate the birth of Matías Ramón Mella, one of the founding fathers of the Dominican Republic.

He played a key role in the country’s independence movement and is especially remembered for firing the symbolic “Trabucazo” on February 27, 1844, marking the beginning of Dominican independence.

Mella’s courage, leadership, and patriotism continue to inspire generations today. 🇩🇴

On World Day Against Depression (January 13th), we remind you that you’re not alone. 💙
Depression can show up in many ways—difficulty concentrating, changes in appetite, or overwhelming thoughts—but help is available. Talking to a professional can make all the difference.
If you or someone you love is struggling, reach out. Support saves lives.

Today we celebrated together the traditional lighting of our Christmas tree, a moment that fills us with joy and reminds us of the importance of sharing, giving thanks, and coming together as a family.

May each light be a reminder of the service, strength, and hope that our veterans and our entire team represent.

May this season inspire us to continue providing care with warmth and dedication!
Happy Holidays 🎁💙

Thanksgiving may have been last week, but the warmth of that day still lingers.
We shared laughs, gathered beautiful memories, and filled our hearts a little more than our plates.
Grateful for every moment, every smile, every reminder of how blessed we are. 🧡🍂

Today, we honor our veterans not only for their service, but for their strength in facing life's toughest battles—
including lung cancer.
At Veterans First, we stand with you. Lung cancer affects veterans at higher rates due to past exposures and smoking prevalence. Early detection saves lives, and your health is our mission.
Veterans: You've fought for us. Now let us fight for you.

World Diabetes Day💉

On World Diabetes Day, we at Veterans First would like to shine a light on a global health challenge that affects over 37 million Americans (and disproportionately impacts our veterans).

Why It Matters for Veterans:

* Veterans are more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes due to service-related stress, lifestyle changes, and exposure to certain chemicals.

* Many face barriers to consistent care, especially after transitioning out of active duty.

This year’s theme is Access to Diabetes Care; a call to action to ensure every veteran has the tools, education, and support they need to manage their health.

Let’s raise awareness and advocate for better care. Because those who’ve served deserve nothing less.

Today we pause to honor the brave men and women who have worn the uniform and served our nation with courage, dedication, and heart.

Your sacrifice and commitment remind us every day that freedom is not free, it is earned through service, love, and resilience.

To all Veterans, thank you for protecting our country and inspiring generations with your strength and honor.
