Glimpse of the skill development series of Project p53

Project P53 is an initiative taken up by Cancer Awareness Foundation of Bangladesh aimed at fostering and building young cancer leaders for the future.

As part of the project curriculum, the second skill development session titled "Key Insights Into Common Female Cancers" was held on June 17th, 2025.

The session was facilitated by the extremely acclaimed personnel Dr. Manifa Naz Fatma , who is an esteemed Consultant of
Dept. of Obs. & Gynae from
Dhaka National Medical Institute Hospital.

The session was an interactive platform for our future leaders where they gained knowledge about the basics of breast & cervical cancer, prevalance & mortality rate, risk factors, its effect on everyday life of a patient, how to diagnose and why it can be prevented by keeping and maintaining healthy lifestyle.
They were also educated on early prevention and lengthen survival rate of survivors.

We hope this session was an enlightening one in broadening their horizon and expect them to apply these comprehensions in their future endeavors.

On May 9th, 2025; the inaugural bootcamp of 'Project p53', an ongoing skill development & research oriented project launched by the Cancer Awareness Foundation of Bangladesh was held at Faith Bangladesh, Dhaka where young undergraduate students from medical, public health & life science background went through an enriched training period led by proficient team of experts. The key agenda was to empower future cancer leaders by up
-skilling a special group of enthusiastic individuals hailing from diverse academic framework who were equally motivated to join the cause of fighting cancer & to contribute in cancer research.

The day was ornamented with insightful discussions, highly engaging teamwork, innovational project proposal submission & many more hands on activities. The sessions were moderated by oncologists, public health specialists, and a brilliant team of young speakers who shared their knowledge with the fellow students inspiring them to play role as a young catalyst in cancer prevention field. Topics ranged from cancer challenges of Bangladesh to the essence of being a cancer volunteer, role of youth in cancer control, power of teamwork, interpersonal conflict management and specially light was shed on the key segment featuring research that guided the participants through an illuminating journey from basic to advance learning. Besides highly interactive team activities were designed where they opened their innovative mind to share exclusive project design ideas.

Through observing this day-long bootcamp, we believe the future cancer leaders stepping into this arena have found true motive behind contributing their intelligence & endeavour to save million lives. Every discussion made was to ignite their spirit with key messages to implement the practical learnings in their future prospects of fighting cancer with a collaborative approach in mind.
