If there is one thing Ayurveda has taught me, it's that this is NOT the path of quick fixes, but if you CHANGE YOUR HABITS then YOU CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
In today's world everyone wants the magic cure all. The quick fix that is going to help them lose weight, fix their hormone imbalances, or energy levels but no one actually wants to do the work to get there.
I see this all the time with clients. We have the initial consultation and I send their plan. An ayurvedic plan that includes meals, daily routine schedule, herbal protocols, and yogic therapies but people do not follow through. Instead they are looking for permission to keep unhealthy habits. They want me to tell them it is okay to go out drinking on weekends, eat dessert every day, or skip out on quality sleep for screen time.
You CANNOT fix years of imbalance with a 3 day detox. You cannot cure dis-ease in the body with turmeric alone. Trust me, I've tried and I learned through experience that healing must be 100% effort and that you are going to have to become an entirely new person if you want to see results.
This means asking yourself every day if what you do is helping you become the person you want to be. Are you choosing your future self every day?
Ayurveda doesn't lie. It asks you to listen to your body. It requires you to CHANGE your life! This is not easy, and it should be done progressively over time. Just like we work on progressive overload in the gym with our workouts. When you create new habits that lead toward your health it is the same.
Start with the basics. Go to bed earlier. Stop eating sugar. Move your body more. Turn off your screens. Change your social circle and focus your energy on YOU and your well being.
It is a one step at a time process and it is NOT easy, but that is why not everyone does it. This is also why having a coach in your corner who understands what you are going through and what you need is so important. This is why I love helping women find balance.
Ayurveda is the science of life. Living well, not just existing on auto pilot. It asks you to change the way you do things because YOU are a product of all the daily decisions that you make.
