Transpedicular spinal fixation (TSF)

The TSF simulator helps to learn how to determine the point of entry of screws, the trajectory and depth of their installation, the process of connecting them together, and also to try different types of fixations.

The simulator is an imitation of the bone structures of the human lumbar spine in full size. The imitation bones are made of high-temperature plastic, and the inside is filled with foam. These materials provide structural strength for surgical procedures.

What is this simulator for?
To try yourself in an interesting technique - medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction with tibial tubercle transfer for recurrent patellar instability

What does anatomy include?
Fragments of the femur and tibia made of high-temperature plastic, due to which the bone structures can be sawed and drilled

The model also includes lateral and medial collateral ligaments, the patellar ligament, as well as simulating the pathology of patellar instability to reproduce and practice MPFL reconstruction

Transpedicular spine fixation

Our new development is an anatomical simulator for developing the skills of transpedicular screw fixation (TSF).

The main task of such fixation is to stabilize the spine with screws. The TSF simulator helps to learn how to determine the point of screws entry, work out the trajectory and depth of their installation, the process of connecting them together and also try different types of fixations.

The simulator is an imitation of the bone structures of the human lumbar spine in full size. The imitation bones are made of high-temperature plastic and the inside is filled with foam. These materials provide structural strength for surgical procedures.

Also, the model provides imitation of intervertebral discs in the form of soft silicone inserts, imitation of an epidural film and a soft spinal cord with nerve roots. The kit includes a silicone stand that provides a fixed position of the internal components for the necessary manipulations.

What have we done? In the process of scientific research we have developed a technology for creating surgical guides using 3D printing, they are printed anatomically individually for each clinical case.

For what are they? They help to install the plates at selected positions with a verified angle relative to each other, thereby simplifying and accelerating the operation, and also eliminating the human factor in the process of performing the intervention
