🎉 BNC PRM 2022 has ended! 🎉

The 7th Baltic and North Sea Conference on Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine brought together PRM specialists from Baltic and the North Sea countries and abroad. 188 persons took part in the conference in person and 84 were listening to the event online. The conference hosted also 19 Ukrainian PRM specialists.

25 lecturers were giving their lectures in person and 10 lecturers introduced their research via an online platform.

The conference was supported by the Enterprise Estonia (EAS) and Tartu city.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and hopefully, we will meet at the next conference!

🎉 Today is the day - BNC PRM 2022 starts! 🎉

President of the Baltic & North Sea forum, Professor Alvydas Juosevičius will welcome all participants today during the Opening Ceremony and will give a lecture on "Rehabilitation across the borders – aim and purpose" during the Opening Session.

🔑 BNC PRM 2022 is waiting for the lecture of Janika Kõrv.

Janika Kõrv is a Professor of Clinical Neurology at the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, University of Tartu, Estonia and a Consultant Neurologist at Tartu University Hospital. She is the chair of the Estonian Stroke Initiative Group, board member of the Estonian L. Puusepp Society of Neurologists and Neurosurgeons, institutional delegate at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), and former chairperson of the Nordic Stroke Society (2015-2019). Janika Kõrv is a Fellow of the European Stroke Organisation (ESO) and a member of scientific panels of stroke and neuroepidemiology at the EAN.

Her main research interests are epidemiology of stroke, stroke in young adults, and clinical projects, including acute stroke management and secondary prevention. She has been a national coordinator in various academic multicenter clinical trials of stroke. As a team member, she has participated in ESO and EAN stroke guidelines working groups. Janika Kõrv is a member of the editorial board of the European Stroke Journal and BMC Neurology and served as a reviewer for many international medical journals.

The current presentation is about what is already known as well as challenges in secondary prevention with oral anticoagulants in patients of atrial fibrillation and ischemic stroke.

Boya Nugraha is a researcher and consultant with experience in developing rehabilitation assessment tools at health system levels and conducting health system analysis in different countries. He works as a researcher at Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Hannover Medical School. He has been actively involved in International communities, including Global Rehabilitation Alliance, ISPRM, Baltic and North Sea Forum on Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (BNC-PRM).

🔑 BNC PRM 2022 is waiting for the lecture of Prof Margus Viigimaa.

Professor Margus Viigimaa is the Research Chief of the Centre of Cardiology, North Estonia Medical Centre and Head of the Centre for Cardiovascular Medicine, Tallinn University of Technology.

He has published more than 300 original scientific papers, H-index is 40 and the number of citations is 32935 (Scopus database). Viigimaa is the editorial board member of several journals.

He is the President of the Baltic Atherosclerosis Society, past president of the Estonian Society of Cardiology, a Membership Committee member of the European Society of Cardiology, Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, past Council member of the European Society of Hypertension. He established the European Society of Hypertension Working Group on Hypertension and Sexual Dysfunction in 2010 and is chairing it until now.

🎓 Prof Margus Viihimaa will have a lecture titled "Erectile dysfunction in cardiovascular disorders".
