Thai Massage is a powerful tool for wellness, but sometimes, your body needs a different kind of rest! Your safety is our top priority, so it's essential to know when a massage might do more harm than good.
Please reschedule your session if you have any of the following:
🚨 Acute Illness or Fever: If you have a fever, the flu, a severe cold, or any contagious systemic infection. Massage can spread the infection or make your symptoms worse by increasing circulation. Rest is key!
🩹 Recent Injury, Surgery, or Open Wounds: This includes fresh cuts, open sores, severe bruising, recent fractures, sprains, or surgeries (within the last 6 months, or as advised by your doctor). We need to let your body focus on healing first.
🦠 Skin Diseases and Infections: Do not receive a massage on or near any affected area if you have:
Contagious Skin Conditions: E.g., fungal infections (ringworm), shingles, active herpes outbreaks, or highly contagious rashes. This is to protect both you and your therapist, and to prevent spread to other parts of your body.
Active Inflammation: Such as severe eczema, psoriasis flare-ups, or severe, weeping acne. We will need to either skip the area entirely or postpone until the condition is calm.
❤️ Specific Health Conditions:
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) or Blood Clots: Massage is a critical contraindication as it could dislodge a clot.
Severe Osteoporosis: The stretching and pressure may be too intense for fragile bones.
Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure or Heart Conditions: Always consult your doctor and inform your therapist.
Active Cancer: We need to know your full history and may require a doctor's consent to ensure safe treatment.
🤰 Pregnancy: Thai massage can be modified, but please always let us know in advance. There are specific stretches and pressure points that must be avoided, especially in the first trimester.
If you are ever in doubt, the best advice is always: Consult your doctor and communicate openly with your therapist before your session!
We're here to support your well-being safely. See you on a healthier day! 🙏
