What are mantras? 🌀
And why would we use them
Mantras are sounds, subtle vibrations, that have existed in nature since the beginning of time.
No one invented them. The great sages from the past cognized them during important moments of inspiration. Then they used them in meditation and gained insights about their benefits.
Sakura meditation offers such astonishing results because it uses these primordial sounds, also known as biija mantras aka ‘seed’ mantras. They are seen as the seeds of infinite potential, and once you start to use them on a daily basis you understand how literal this description really is.
Everything around us—trees, rivers, clouds, even our own bodies—is made of atoms vibrating at different frequencies. From these subtle vibrations, the endless diversity of nature arises: the song of a bird, the scent of jasmine, the rhythm of the ocean, the warmth of the sun. When we pause to notice, it’s astonishing how something so simple—a vibration—can orchestrate the whole of life in such intricate, breathtaking harmony.
Coming to a more rational description of how they work, they act as a tuning fork for our bodies. Just like we tune a musical instrument to the correct pitch of each musical note. These gentle sounds remind us of the vibration of perfect health, the initial blueprint of our personal anatomy.

Have you heard of the fawn response?

When we talk about stress response, we often mention fight, flight, or freeze.
But there’s a fourth one, and it’s softer, sneakier, and often overlooked.

It’s called fawning—and it’s the tendency to please, appease, and over-give in order to feel safe.

🌿 You say “yes” when you really mean “no”
🌿 You apologize constantly, even when it’s not your fault

We often hear about the Hero’s Journey—the call to adventure, the trials, the triumph. But the Heroine’s Journey is something different. It’s not about slaying dragons or conquering empires. It’s about inner reclamation. A quiet, courageous return to wholeness.
Where the hero goes out into the world, the heroine goes inward.

It speaks about something that we deeply crave as human beings

🧘🏽‍♂️The Call to Go Within
At some point, many of us feel a sense of disconnection—from our bodies, our joy, our creativity, our truth. We’ve been taught to achieve, perform, and please. To be “strong,” even when we feel exhausted. To keep going, even when something deep within us is calling out for rest.
This is the beginning of the heroine’s journey. When the outer world no longer offers the answers we seek, we start looking inward.

The first relationship that was deeply changed was the one with myself. I noticed I became more honest with myself, more real and loving.
Starting bit by bit to accept myself as I am and catching self deprecating thoughts.
One big shift came also when I finally stopped lying to myself about my marriage. One day I just had this realization that: "I deserve to be happy". And so does he. This changed everything and made my next step very clear and actionable.
Then my relationship with my parents changed. I began to see them, truly see them as they are and understand them, empathize with them and how they see things. Knowing that they deeply love me and my sister, in their own way. Our talks now are more calm and sometimes deep and sweet. We can express ourselves more freely and without fear of being judged.
And finally my friends. I became more selective with who I spend my time with. And from a classic 'people pleaser' I started asserting myself and my boundaries more clearly. As result some of the friendships faded out naturally and organically.
At the same time new friendships blossomed, with ease and joy. As I start expressing myself in a more authentic and natural way, being less afraid of how I am perceived.
Meditation helps me meet myself and others with an open heart. And also realizing that there is no separation. We are more alike that we think. It takes just one of us to make the first step.
