Thank you for your leadership in offering this innovation for your patients suffering from coronary artery disease. The DynamX Bioadaptor is a metal implant with a drug-eluting bioresorbable polymer coating that supports the coronary artery during healing, with radial strength similar to DES. Over six months, the polymer coating dissolves, uncaging the bioadaptor and freeing the artery to move with the natural expansion and contraction of the artery, unlike DES. This has been shown to (a) maintain the ability for positive adaptive remodeling, (b) restore vessel function, and (c) allow for the vessel’s return towards baseline angulation. Drug-eluting stents (DES) are considered to be safe and effective in treating coronary artery disease. However, the high long-term adverse event rate associated with them was one of the drivers for the development of our new technology – the DynamX Bioadaptor. The DynamX Bioadaptor is designed to treat blocked coronary arteries and deliver superior outcomes by restoring more natural vessel motion, unlike DES that cage the artery and prevent them from moving and functioning normally. This loss of vessel movement has been associated with major adverse cardiac events (MACE), such as heart attack . By adapting to the vessel, DynamX offers the potential to reduce the incidence of MACE.
