This course will update and inform all GPD’s about the art and science of contemporary Endodontics. A course that puts it all together in simple, up to date, and innovative techniques.

The objectives of this course are for the participant to :

-Acquire additional knowledge of teeth morphology, become more aware of anatomical variations.
-Gain skill and dexterity in opening, enlarging and debridement of the root canal.
-Develop the tactile sense necessary in the handling of Endodontic instruments and materials.
-Correlate radiographic information with tactile sense.
-Be able to effectively fill the prepared canal using lateral, Vertical (warm) condensation of gutta percha.

By the end of the course you would be able to:
-Apply proper terminology to pulpal and periapical diseases.
-Know various diagnostic tests needed to reach a precise pulpal and periapical diagnosis.
-Know the cellular basis for pulpal and periapical diseases.
-Know how to diagnose and proper treatment for endodontic emergencies.
-Know how to advise a patient of post-operative sequelae.
-Manage oral (pulpal, periodontal or traumatic) or medical emergencies including performing CPR and activating local life support systems (EMS) and/or make appropriate referrals to medical and dental specialties.
-Perform non-surgical root canal treatment on single and multi-rooted teeth.
-Know how to diagnose and treat perio-endo lesions.
-Know how to diagnose and treat internal and external resorption.
-Know how to diagnose and treat vertical fractures of teeth.
-know how to locate and instrument a 2nd Mesio Buccal canal in upper molars.
-Understand the factors involved in endodontic success and failure.
-Understand the integration of newer technologies in the practice of endodontics (Rotary
instrumentation and Vertical ‘warm’ gutta percha filling).
-Creating the perfect restoration for patient comfort, function and esthetics.

Hands- On:
-Access Cavity preparations for upper and lower premolars and molars
-Demo on how to locate 2nd MB Canals in upper molars.
-Mecahnical preparation using Gates Glidden and Hand instruments.
-Mechanical preparation using Rotary Endodontic Files (I RACE system presented by FKG dentaire)
-Obturation Using cold lateral compaction technique.
-Warm Vertical Compaction
-Demo System B and Obtura
