✅ The African Center for Women’s Healthcare, headed by Dr. Mervat El-Sayed, continued its September series of Scientific Days with the second event held on Monday, September 8th, 2025, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Alexandria Harbor, represented by Prof. Dr. Wafaa El-Arousy, President of the Club and Professor of Pediatric Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, Alexandria University.
📖 The scientific day was titled:
“Comprehensive Cancer Care, Beyond Treatment to Pain Relief”

1️⃣ Prof. Dr. Yasmine Elwany
Assistant Professor of Clinical Oncology, Medical Research Institute, Alexandria University.

• Understanding breast cancer.
• Breast cancer pathology and subtypes.
• Breast cancer diagnosis and clinical manifestations.
• Clinical staging and diagnosis.
• Multidisciplinary approaches to treatment.
• Surgical management and systemic therapy.
• The pivotal role of nursing in patient care.
• The great impact of presidential initiatives in saving women’s lives across Egypt.
2️⃣ Prof. Dr. Salwa El-Badry
Professor of Medical-Surgical Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, Alexandria University.

• What is pain? A holistic definition.
• The multifaceted nature of pain.
• Biological perspectives and different pain pathways.
• Psychological perspectives on pain.
• Patient education on pain subtypes and comprehensive patient care.

and witnessed the active participation of nearly 35 nurses from various healthcare institutions at the African Center in Alexandria.

✅ اطلق المركز الإفريقي لخدمات صحة المرأة – برئاسة د. ميرفت السيد – ثاني فعاليات سلسلة الأيام العلمية لشهر سبتمبر، وذلك يوم الاثنين ٨ سبتمبر ٢٠٢٥، بالتعاون مع نادي روتاري هاربر الإسكندرية، ممثلًا في الأستاذة الدكتورة وفاء العروسي رئيس النادي وأستاذ تمريض الأطفال بكلية التمريض جامعة الإسكندرية.
