Meet Mira Shaker, our integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, who creates a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their experiences and growth. Rooted in person-centred therapy, she believes that healing begins within a relationship built on acceptance and genuine presence.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The American University in Cairo and an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Keele University, UK. Mira is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is currently working towards accreditation. She received her clinical training at renowned institutions such as Al Mashfa Hospital & Resort, and gained further experience providing bereavement counselling at the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and general counselling with Healthbox CIC in the UK. With three years of experience in both the UK and Egypt, she brings a culturally sensitive approach to her practice.
She holds a diploma in Schema Therapy and a certification in CBT for Anxiety from the Beck Institute, and is currently completing training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Mira also integrates psychodynamic approaches and inner child work into her practice. For her, therapy is not just about tools or techniques but about meeting clients where they are and responding to what they need in each moment. Her non-directive approach to therapy allows clients to take the lead, while provides a safe, supportive environment that fosters self-understanding and growth.
Mira works with adults aged 18 and above, supporting a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, loss, attachment injuries, and difficulties with communication or emotional regulation.
