Proud to share that Canal Sugar and Minia University (60,000 students) have won the Alliance and Development Competition for the North Upper Egypt Region, held under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education.

The three-year agreement was signed by Dr. Kamel Abdallah, Managing Director & CEO of Canal Sugar, and Dr. Essam Farahat, President of Minia University, during a ceremony attended by H.E. Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ayman Ashour.

This initiative marks an important milestone in our joint efforts to collaborate with Minia University’s incubators and accelerators to address critical agricultural and industrial challenges across the region. Our partners in this transformative journey include Athar, Plug & Play, and Baramouda, who will play a vital role in enabling innovation and supporting emerging entrepreneurs.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Kamel stated:
“Through this collaboration, we aim to be a role model for Industrial-Academic joint work that drives innovation, empowers entrepreneurs, and supports the development of sustainable, social impact–driven enterprises.”

يسعدنا الإعلان عن فوز شركة القناة للسكر وجامعة المنيا (60,000 طالب) بمسابقة “التحالف والتطوير” لمنطقة شمال الصعيد، والتي أُقيمت تحت رعاية وزير التعليم العالي.

وقد تم توقيع الاتفاقية الممتدة لثلاث سنوات بين الدكتور/ كامل عبدالله، العضو المنتدب والرئيس التنفيذي لشركة القناة للسكر، والدكتور/ عصام فرحات، رئيس جامعة المنيا، وذلك خلال مراسم شهدها دولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء الدكتور/ مصطفى مدبولي، ووزير التعليم العالي الدكتور/ أيمن عاشور.

يمثل هذا التعاون خطوة مهمة في جهودنا المشتركة مع حاضنات ومسرّعات جامعة المنيا لمواجهة التحديات الزراعية والصناعية بالمنطقة. كما نعتز بشركائنا في هذا المشروع وهم: أثر، Plug & Play، وبارامودا، لدورهم المحوري في دعم الابتكار وتمكين رواد الأعمال.

وفي تعليقه على المبادرة، صرّح الدكتور كامل:

🏛️ Canal Sugar Sponsors the Full Revitalization of Minya’s Nile Square

As part of its continuous commitment to community development, Canal Sugar proudly sponsored the full renovation and revitalization of Nile Square in Minya, a project that restores one of the city’s most prominent landmarks to its former grandeur — blending the governorate’s pharaonic heritage with its growing status as a modern hub for industrial development.

The newly revitalized square was inaugurated by a delegation from Minya Governorate led by Major General Emad El Kedwany, Governor of Minya, accompanied by Dr. Mohamed Abu Zaid, Deputy Governor, in the presence of a Canal Sugar delegation led by Dr. Kamel Abdallah, Managing Director & CEO, and Mr. Mohamed Adly, Chief Strategy & People Officer.

في إطار التزامها المستمر بدعم وتنمية المجتمعات التي تعمل بها، تفخر شركة القناة للسكر بأنها الراعي الكامل لأعمال تطوير ورفع كفاءة ميدان النيل بمدينة المنيا، وهو المشروع الذي أعاد الحياة إلى أحد أبرز معالم المدينة، جامعًا بين عراقة التاريخ الفرعوني للمحافظة ودورها المتنامي كمركز صناعي حديث في صعيد مصر.
