Coupling misalignment can result in :

1.a build up of heat in bearings from increased friction and vibrations.
2.Consequently bearing life is reduced and in the case of carbon journal bearings lubricated by the pumped liquid;
3.wear can occur elliptically,
4.rapidly reducing functionality. In severe instances,
5.coupling misalignment can lead to fractures in the pump casing,
6. increased noise,
7.failure of the pump shaft.
