Nothing is perfect, there is better!

Being a dentist have a very steep learning curve. To improve hand skills, science, colors, vision, beauty, little details and naturality is hard. Time, experience and hard work are the way to go. Criticizing the work & dealing with expectations can help extend the mind to more possibilities.

Quality dentistry takes time, effort and money

Here we had a distal caries that progressed to involve the nerve. Regardless the pain pt came with the tooth was treated with almost no discomfort. Treated to last with only maintenance in the future.

Don’t ignore your early teeth signs the problem won’t go away. Visit your dentist as soon as you can!

Biomimetic dentistry changed my mind on how to look to a tooth and how to treat different diseases on it.

The typical scenario for this would be post+core and a crown which will remove too much of a tooth structure all around and will leave this tooth for further more difficult treatment in the future.

Restoring with biomimetic restoration whether it is a composite/direct/indirect/ceramic to preserve as much as possible of tooth structure while removing only weak defective parts that cannot withstand biting forces or can prevent a good bond. Without biomimetic restoration tooth will be susceptible to further damage to the remaining structure.

So here we removed caries with CDD to get the bond with a healthy dentin/tooth structure, thin cusps were covered to prevent future cracks and breakage. IDS and resin coat to maximize bond strength between tooth/restoration. Building up with composite and redefine indirect restoration margin.
Impression and indirect composite onlay fabrication for better contact restoration and reducing chair time. Seated with heated composite. I love this case hope you like it!
