في قرية البصالي بمركز كوم أمبو – محافظة أسوان، قدمت بروك نشاطًا توعويًا مميزًا من خلال مسرحية بالعرائس قدمتها د. إسراء خالد بمشاركة المساعد مصطفى كامل، وذلك أثناء خروج العيادة المتنقلة رقم 43 التابعة لعيادة بروك بأسوان إلى القرية.

استهدفت المسرحية توعية الأهالي – وخاصة الأطفال الذين كانوا أغلب الحضور – بأهمية العناية بالحيوانات العاملة، حيث تناولت أهمية تنظيف جسم الحيوان بانتظام للوقاية من الأمراض الجلدية، وكذلك تنظيف الحافر لتجنب الإصابة بخراج الحافر .

وجاء هذا النشاط ضمن أنشطة الرائدات الريفيات، لدعم جهود التوعية و التواصل مع المجتمع .

تواصل بروك من خلال هذه الأنشطة نشر الوعي بأساليب العناية السليمة بالحيوانات العاملة، لما لذلك من أثر مهم على صحة الحيوان.





In Al-Basaly village in Kom Ombo district – Aswan Governorate, Brooke organized a special awareness activity through a puppet show presented by Dr. Israa Khaled with the support of assistant Mostafa Kamel. This activity took place during the visit of the mobile clinic No. 43 from Brooke Aswan clinic to the village.

The puppet show aimed to raise awareness among the community – especially children, who were the majority of the audience – about the importance of caring for working animals. It highlighted the importance of regularly cleaning the animal to prevent skin diseases, and cleaning the hoof to avoid hoof abscess.

This activity was part of the rural guides activities, supporting awareness efforts and community engagement.

Through such activities, Brooke continues to raise awareness about proper care of working animals, which has a positive impact on animal health.

من القاهرة لبرطس… رحلة هدفها العناية وليس المسافة.

انطلقت عيادتان متنقلتان من عيادة بروك في القاهرة إلى منطقة برطس بالجيزة، بفريق متكامل يضم أطباء بيطريين، مساعدين، بيطار وسروجي…

خلال القافلة، تم استقبال 46 حالة وتقديم 52 إجراء علاجي متنوع، إلى جانب:
▪️ توزيع 65 واقي أنف للحد من جروح السلسلة
▪️ إصلاح 30 سرج
▪️ صناعة 5 سروج جديدة
▪️ تقليم 9 حوافر

لكن الدور لم يقتصر على العلاج فقط.
كان هناك حديث مباشر مع أصحاب الحيوانات عن أهمية العناية بالحافر، والتوعية بخطورة جروح السلسلة التي قد تصيب أنف الحصان أو الحمار وكيف يمكن لتفاصيل بسيطة في الاستخدام اليومي أن تمنع ألماً كبيراً.

والأجمل…
أن التوعية وصلت أيضاً للأطفال. لأن بناء وعي جيل جديد يعني مستقبلاً أكثر رحمة بالحيوانات العاملة. في بروك، القوافل ليست مجرد زيارة ليوم واحد، بل خطوة إضافية نحو رعاية مستدامة تقوم على العلاج، والوقاية، ونشر المعرفة.





From Cairo to Bortos… a journey focused on care, not distance.

Two mobile clinics set off from Brooke Clinic in Cairo to Bortos, Giza, with a dedicated team including veterinarians, assistants, a farrier, and a saddler.

During the visit, 46 cases were received and 52 different medical procedures were provided, in addition to:
▪️ Distributing 65 noseband covers to reduce chain injuries on the noses of horses and donkeys
▪️ Repairing 30 saddles
▪️ Making 5 new saddles
▪️ Trimming 9 hooves

The role of the convoy was not limited to treatment only.
There were direct discussions with animal owners about the importance of hoof care and raising awareness about the risks of chain injuries that can affect the noses of horses and donkeys, and how simple daily practices can prevent serious pain.

And even better…
Awareness sessions also reached children, because building awareness in a new generation means a more compassionate future for working animals.

At Brooke, convoys are not just one-day visits,
but another step toward sustainable care based on treatment, prevention, and spreading knowledge.

في إطار التعاون مع مبادرة نبض واحد للصحة العامة والبيطرية One Pulse برعاية وزارة الشباب والرياضة ومن خلال الإدارة المركزية لتمكين الشباب استقبلت مستشفى بروك – عيادة القاهرة يوم الأحد 15 فبراير مجموعة من طلاب كليات الطب البيطري – في زيارات ميدانية تعليمية للتعرف على آليات العمل داخل المستشفى والخدمات التي تقدمها، بما يشمل العيادات الخارجية والداخلية. وخلال الزيارة، تم تقديم شرح شامل لأكثر الحالات المرضية شيوعاً بين الخيول، مثل الأمراض التنفسية والتهاب الحافر، بالإضافة إلى مبادئ استخدام الأشعة السينية ودورها في التشخيص الدقيق. تأتي هذه الزيارة ضمن جهود مستشفى بروك لتعزيز التعليم العملي وتمكبن شباب الأطباء البيطريين ، وتوفير تجربة تعليمية واقعية تساعدهم على فهم أفضل لبيئة العمل البيطري ومهارات التشخيص والعلاج المتقدمة.





Within the frame work of cooperation between Brooke Hospital for Animals – Egypt and One Pulse initiative , for public and veterinary health, under the patronage of Ministry of youth and sports (Egypt) through the central Administration for youth Brooke Hospital – Cairo Clinic welcomed on Sunday, February 15, a group of veterinary students from different vet colleges for an educational field visit. The students learned about how the hospital works and the services it offers, including both outpatient and inpatient clinics.

During the visit, the students received clear explanations about the most common diseases in horses, such as respiratory diseases and laminitis, as well as the basics of using X-rays and their role in accurate diagnosis.

This visit is part of Brooke Hospital’s efforts to support practical learning for veterinary students, giving them a hands-on experience to better understand the veterinary work environment and improve their skills in diagnosis and treatment.

في إطار التزام جمعية مستشفى بروك الخيرى برفع الوعي المجتمعي بثقافة الرفق بالحيوان، وتأكيدًا على مبدأ (الوقاية خير من العلاج) شهدت قرية العطواني بمركز إدفو – محافظة أسوان تنفيذ نشاط ميداني توعوي للرائدات الريفيات، وذلك بمشاركة فريق العيادة المتنقلة كود 54 بقيادة د. محمد علاء.

استهدف النشاط فئات عمرية مختلفة من أسر القرية، وركز على التوعية بأهمية توفير الدفء للحيوانات العاملة والحفاظ على جفاف أرضيات الإيواء. وتم تسليط الضوء على العلاقة المباشرة بين رطوبة الأرض وإصابات الحوافر، والتي تُعد من أبرز أسباب العرج لدى الحيوانات الفصيلة الخيلية العاملة.

كما تضمن النشاط شرحًا لعدد من الخطوات البسيطة والعملية التي يمكن تطبيقها بسهولة، والتي تسهم في توفير بيئة صحية وآمنة للحيوانات، وتحميها من العديد من الأمراض، بما ينعكس إيجابًا على صحتها وقدرتها على العمل.





As part of Brooke Hospital for Animals – Egypt’s commitment to raising community awareness about animal welfare, and in line with the principle that prevention is better than cure, a field awareness activity was conducted in Al-Atwani Village, Edfu Center, Aswan Governorate.

The activity was carried out by rural guides, with the participation of the Mobile Clinic (Code 54) led by Dr. Mohamed Alaa, and targeted different age groups among village families.

The session focused on the importance of providing warmth and maintaining dry flooring in animal shelters. It highlighted the direct link between damp ground and hoof problems, which are among the main causes of lameness in working equines.

The activity also presented simple and practical measures that can be easily applied to improve animal welfare, help keep animals warm, and protect them from many diseases, contributing to better health and work performance.

في إطار التعاون بين جمعية مستشفى بروك الخيري لعلاج الحيوان وكليات الطب البيطري، استقبلت مستشفى بروك – عيادة القاهرة خلال يومي 1 و4 فبراير مجموعتين من طلاب كلية الطب البيطري – جامعة القاهرة (أسرة إيجابيون) ، في زيارات ميدانية تعليمية للتعرف على آليات العمل داخل المستشفى والخدمات التي تقدمها، دعمًا لمفاهيم الرفق بالحيوان.

بدأت الزيارات بعرض تعريفي بتاريخ نشأة جمعية مستشفى بروك ورسالتها في تخفيف الألم والمعاناة عن الحيوانات من خلال تقديم الخدمات البيطرية المجانية لحيوانات الفصيلة الخيلية العاملة، والارتقاء بمستوى الوعي لدى أصحابها، إلى جانب استعراض مبادرات إنشاء المظلات، وتوفير أحواض الشرب، وتوزيع العلائق لحيوانات الفصيلة الخيلية بالمحافظات المختلفة.

كما شملت الزيارات جولة داخل أقسام المستشفى لمتابعة حالات العيادة الخارجية، والتعرف على خطوات الفحص الإكلينيكي والتشخيص، ومتابعة الحالات المحجوزة، والتعرف على الأمراض الأكثر شيوعًا وطرق علاجها والوقاية منها، بالإضافة إلى استخدام الأشعة التشخيصية الرقمية في تشخيص أمراض الجهاز العضلي والحركي.
واختُتمت الزيارات بالتقاط الصور التذكارية مع فريق عمل المستشفى.

As part of the ongoing cooperation between The Brooke Hospital for Animals - Egypt and colleges of Veterinary Medicine, The Brooke Cairo Clinic welcomed two groups of students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University (EGA Family) on February 1 and 4, during educational field visits. The visits aimed to introduce students to the hospital’s working system and the veterinary and awareness services it provides, in support of animal welfare principles.

The program began with a presentation introducing the history of The Brooke Hospital for Animals and its mission to relieve pain and suffering by providing free veterinary services to working equines, as well as raising awareness among animal owners. Students were also informed by the hospital’s initiatives, including the establishment of shade shelters, water troughs, and feed distribution programs for equines across different governorates.

The visits also included guided tours of the hospital departments, where students observed outpatient cases, learned the steps of clinical examination and diagnosis, followed up on hospitalized cases, and became familiar with the most common equine diseases, along with methods of treatment and prevention. In addition, to the use of digital diagnostic radiography in diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions.

The visits concluded with taking commemorative photos with the hospital’s veterinary team.

تعرب جمعية مستشفى بروك مصر عن بالغ حزنها لوفاة زميلنا العزيز وعضو مجلس الإدارة، الدكتور مصطفى الدمر داش، الذي وافته المنية اليوم.

لقد كان الدكتور الدمر داش عضوًا مؤثرا في مجلس إدارة بروك مصر، وشخصًا يتحلى بالنزاهة والتفاني واللطف. وقد كان لالتزامه وجهوده في دعم رسالة بروك أثر بالغ التقدير، ولن يُنسى عطاؤه. لقد قدم وقته وخبرته بسخاء في خدمة رسالتنا.

يمثل رحيله خسارة كبيرة لبروك مصر ولعائلة بروك على مستوى العالم.

سيظل الدكتور مصطفى الدمر داش حاضرًا في ذاكرتنا بكل احترام وامتنان. ونتقدم بخالص التعازي والمواساة إلى أسرته وأصدقائه وكل من حظي بشرف العمل معه.

Brooke Egypt is deeply saddened to share the passing of our dear colleague and Board Member, Dr. Mustafa Eldemirdash, earlier today.

Dr. Eldemirdash was a valued member of the Brooke Egypt Board and a person of integrity, dedication, and kindness. His commitment and efforts in support of Brooke’s mission were deeply appreciated and will not be forgotten. He gave his time and wisdom generously in service of our mission.

This is a significant loss for Brooke Egypt and for the wider Brooke family.

He will be remembered with respect and gratitude. Our heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with him.

تدريب متخصص لتعزيز مهارات أطباء مستشفى بروك الخيرى لعلاج الحيوان - مصر
في إطار خطة التطوير المهني المستمر لمستشفى بروك للحيوان، عُقدت دورة تدريبية متخصصة لتعزيز مهارات وقدرات الأطباء البيطريين في المنظمة. أقيمت الدورة في المقر الرئيسي لمستشفى بروك بالقاهرة في الفترة من ١٩ إلى ٢٢ يناير ٢٠٢٦.

قدم التدريب كل من الدكتور محمد عبد العاطي، مدير بروك المنصورة (استشاري أول تناسليات الخيول)، والدكتور مصطفى محجوب، طبيب بيطري أول وعضو فريق التدريب الرئيسي بمستشفى بروك بالإسكندرية، وذلك بمشاركة ١١ من شباب طبيبات و أطباء بروك من فروعها السبعة المختلفة.

و شملت الدورة تدريباً نظرياً وعملياً على خطوات الفحص الإكلينيكي الشامل و إستخدام جهاز السونار في فحص الجهاز الهضمي و التناسلي و الحركي ، بالإضافة إلى أساليب العلاج والوقاية ، هذا التدريب التزام "بروك" بالتطوير المستمر لكوادرها البيطرية، مما يساهم في تحسين جودة الخدمات البيطرية المقدمة ورفع معايير الرفق بالحيوان.





A Specialized Training to Enhance the Skills of Brooke Hospital for Animals - Egypt, Veterinarians

As part of the Brooke Hospital for Animals’ continuous professional development plan, a specialized training course was conducted to enhance the skills and capacities of the organization’s veterinarians. The course took place at the main Brooke Hospital in Cairo from 19 to 22 January 2026.

The training was delivered by Dr. Mohamed Abdelati, Manager of Brooke Mansoura (Senior Consultant in Equine Reproduction), and Dr. Mostafa Mahgoub, Senior Veterinarian and senior training team member at Brooke Hospital in Alexandria, with the participation of 11 young female and male Brooke veterinarians from its seven different branches.

The course included both theoretical and practical training on the steps of comprehensive clinical examination and the use of ultrasound in examining the digestive, reproductive, and musculoskeletal systems, in addition to treatment and prevention approaches. This training reflects Brooke’s commitment to the continuous development of its veterinary staff, contributing to improved quality of veterinary services and enhanced standards of animal welfare.

انطلقت العيادة المتنقلة رقم 72 من مكتب بروك المنصورة نحو قرية أبشواي بمحافظة الغربية و التي تبعد بمسافة ٦٠ كم عن المنصورة و لكن رحلاتنا لا تقاس بالمسافات فقط بل بعدد الحيوانات العاملة التي نصل إليها .

كان هدفنا في هذه الجولة تقديم الرعاية الطبية الأساسية، والتواصل المباشر مع أصحاب الحيوانات لضمان بيئة عمل آمنة وصحية .

تضمن العمل الميداني في القرية ما يلي :

فحص 42 حالة من الخيول و الحمير العاملة للتأكد من سلامتها .

تقديم 46 إجراءً علاجياً تنوعت حسب احتياجات كل حالة لضمان استعادتها لعافيتها .

عقد جلسة توعية حضرها 7 من اصحاب الحيوانات ، ركزنا خلالها على ممارسات الرعاية اليومية التي تهدف إلى وقاية الحيوان من الإصابات المتكررة .

نؤمن في بروك أن الدعم الطبي الميداني ، جنباً إلى جنب مع نشر الوعي ، هو السبيل الأفضل لتحسين حياة الحيوان ومساندة الأسر التي تعتمد عليه .

Mobile Clinic No. 72 set out from the Brooke Mansoura office toward the village of Abshway in the Gharbia Governorate, located 60 km away from Mansoura. However, our journeys are measured not only by distances but by the number of working animals we reach .

Our goal during this round was to provide essential medical care and engage directly with animal owners to ensure a safe and healthy working environment .

The fieldwork in the village included :

Examining 42 cases of working horses and donkeys to ensure their well-being .

Providing 46 veterinary treatments, tailored to the needs of each case to ensure their recovery .

Conducting an awareness session attended by 7 animal owners, focusing on daily care practices aimed at protecting animals from recurring injuries .

At Brooke , we believe that field-based medical support , coupled with raising awareness, is the best way to improve the lives of animals and support the families who depend on them .

في قلب صعيد مصر، شدت أحد العيادات المتنقلة لعيادة بروك في إدفو رحالها إلى قرية "الكاجوج" التابعة لمركز كوم أمبو بمحافظة أسوان. جولةٌ جديدة انطلقت بهدف تقديم الرعاية الطبية ونشر ثقافة الرفق بالحيوان .

وقد أسفرت مجهودات الفريق خلال الجولة عن تحقيق النتائج التالية:

استقبال 115 حالة: تم فحصها وتقديم الرعاية الطبية اللازمة لها من خيول وحمير المنطقة.

تنفيذ 123 إجراءً علاجياً: شملت مختلف التدخلات البيطرية لضمان تحسن صحة الحيوانات المصابة.

توعية 35 شخصاً: من الكبار والأطفال، حيث ركزت الجلسات على أهمية العناية بالحيوان وتوفير بيئة عمل مناسبة له .

إن سعادتنا تكتمل برؤية الوعي ينمو لدى الكبار، والرحمة تترسخ في قلوب الصغار تجاه هذه الحيوانات.

شكراً لأهالي الكاجوج على تعاونهم وحسن استقبالهم، ومستمرون في الوصول لكل مكان يحتاج فيه الحيوان إلى يدٍ تمتد له بالشفاء.




In the heart of Upper Egypt, one of Brooke’s mobile clinics from Edfu set out on a journey to the village of "Kagog" in the Kom Ombo district, Aswan Governorate. A new tour was launched with the goal of providing medical care and spreading the culture of animal welfare.

The team's efforts during the tour resulted in achieving the following outcomes:

Receiving 115 cases: They were examined and provided with the necessary medical care for the horses and donkeys in the area.

Performing 123 therapeutic procedures: These included various veterinary interventions to ensure the health improvement of the treated animals.

Educating 35 people: Both adults and children, where the sessions focused on the importance of animal care and providing a suitable working environment.

Our happiness is fulfilled by seeing awareness grow among adults and mercy taking root in the hearts of children towards these animals.

Thank you to the people of Kagog for their cooperation and warm welcome. We remain committed to reaching every place where an animal needs a helping hand to heal.
