The idea is to "adopt" a certain number of children annually, care for their health and education, thereby creating a new generation of good men and women for the future of Egypt. ECTF is a newly founded charitable organization that focuses exclusively on abandoned street children in Egypt. Egypt currently has 3.2 million street children and very little is done in order to provide these children with any kind of care of education, thereby exacerbating the problem. ECTF aims to provide each child with a minimal formal education as well as a learned skill, whether carpentry, panel beating, mechanics, joinery, weaving, or another useful skill that will immediately find him or her placement in the workplace. This will be done via professional educators in the center that ECTF wishes to build on the outskirts of Cairo. FSP aims to provide each child with US$500 per annum, that covers their uniform, book expenses, food, and some spending money for one scholastic year, ensuring that children nor their parents get the funds in hand. Instead, ECTF will liase directly with various suppliers and provide children with coupons that can be redeemed for their own private use at select outlets around Egypt. The idea is to ensure that children get full use of the funds without any room for play with monies donated to ECTF.
