Dear Friends and colleagues
After four years of hard work; our textbook (Dr Jonthan Dutton, Dr Alan Proia and me) Comprehensive Textbook of Eyelid Disorders is finally available on Amazon for sale. This textbook which is almost 1000 pages long and includes literally thousands of illustrations addresses eyelid diseases from a slightly different angle. Instead of the traditional approach of focusing on the surgical aspects of eyelid conditions, we have paid particular attention to the medical aspects and nearly every chapter has a dedicated pathology section. Although we had no co-authors (we wrote all chapters ourselves), this book was aided by numerous generous contributions of medical images from distinguished colleagues from around the world. Some of the medical figures generously provided by our colleagues are indeed extremely rare.
All the chapters and references are up-to-date (until March 2022). Although the book was finalized in April of this year (2022), supply chain issues due to COVID delayed the book for a few months, however the COVID issue was a double-pronged sword and in fact COVID may have helped us a bit, as the stay-at-home policy allowed all three of us to give the book our full undivided attention for nearly two years and the book is indeed colossal. We have already started collecting data for a second edition which we will start working on in January 2023.
