Mustafa Abu Al Hassan. GCC was established in order to serve the markets of North Africa, Egypt and Libya. The company specializes in general building contracting, as well as providing the logistics needed for large contractors and project services, labor and procurement supply, and management subcontractors. The company started its first operations through its subsidiary in Tripoli, Libya. In 2006 the previous Government of Libya allocated a major budget for the reconstruction program of Libya, in which GCC Libya has taken a major role in the program by participating in Joint Ventures with 16 different contractors and consortiums to participate in the reconstruction program. GCC has managed to create consortiums from designers, project managers and contractors to provide ‘design and build’ solutions for educational, health, housing, governmental and infrastructure projects though the network that GCC has developed in the country. We were able to provide the best logistical solutions acting as a super subcontractor to main contractors involved. The ability gained to mobilize a large labor force (20,000) into different Libyan cities and to provide all camping, catering, transportation and all other logistics, supplied from the Egyptian market, has helped all our partners and contractors to achieve their construction program targets. GCC also participated in the procurement of construction materials, especially securing cement and steel from the Egyptian market to support the development in Libya. From 2006 to 2010, GCC as contractors achieved the privilege of participating in the construction of 27 universities (Education Program Enhancement), 22 hospitals (Healthcare Enhancement Program), 300,000 residential units around Libya (Housing Program), and the infrastructure development of Tripoli and Benghazi. Due to the diversity of the scope of work GCC has invested to establish sub companies benefiting from special licenses for recruitment and labor recruitment through “Ashghaal” Recruitment Agency, Security Services through “GSL” Global Security Logistics, and also Land Surveying Services through “LAND” Surveying Company, as well as Oil & Gas Services through “GPS” Global Petroleum Services which GCC has established by 2010. Our operations in Egypt from 2008 are limited to special contracting for the Egyptian Military and defense sector. GCC has participated as a subcontractor for US defense companies bidding through the FMS program between the Department of Defense in America and the Egyptian military through the business arm of the Chairman, Mr. Mustafa Abu Al Hassan - Future International Development Corporation (FIDC). Hassan is able to confirm the right market strategy and allocate potential projects and local sponsors who can help to understand the market and create a winning partnership. As well as our unique partnership with several multinational companies enables us to transfer technology advancements according to the clients’ market demands.
