MARC @ Evergreen 2025

Since 1975, the “Biennial Evergreen Phage Meeting” has been held every other year at the Evergreen State College campus (Olympia, WA, USA). The Evergreen Phage Meeting is an international forum for scientists, physicians, patients, and patient advocates from around the world to share the latest findings and trends in phage research and phage therapy. This year, the 26th edition of the meeting was hosted by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville USA.
MARC was present at the 26th Evergreen meeting in multiple capacities. First, Prof. Ramy K. Aziz Aziz, Head of MARC Biolabs and a long-standing meeting attendee (since 2009), organized and presented a pre-meeting workshop on ‘Phage Annotation and Genomics,’ in collaboration with the BV-BRC team, represented by Dr. Rebecca Wattam. Dr. Maher Zaki, Microbiology Scientist at MARC, participated in the workshop as well, through an online presentation on special genes within phage genomes.
Ms. Zainab Hammouda, bioinformatician at , had a poster in the meeting, which reflects collaborative work between Zewail City of Science and Technology City, Cairo University, and MARC.

Finally, MARC was a co-sponsor of the meeting, supporting students and junior scientists in the form of monetary awards. MARC and PHAGEBIOTICS RESEARCH FOUNDATION offered two awards for the best postdoctoral and student speakers, and three awards for the best posters.

MARC joined forces with our sister company, EVA Pharma, through signing an MOU between EVA Group and Porton Advanced Solutions, China. The aim: expanding CAR T-cell therapy research and access in the Middle East and Africa.

At MARC, we innovate with purpose, responding to unmet health needs by translating research into accessible healthcare solutions to save and improve lives.

As cancer immunotherapy is one of our three key health areas, we are on a mission to implement CAR T-cell therapy while staying true to our purpose: making novel solutions more accessible, even when the science is advanced and the costs are high. We are keen to both conduct innovative CAR T-cell research and support local and regional hospitals and industries in producing already-approved CAR-based therapies.
