As mothers, we all dream of raising the best version of our kids — the next Mo Salah, the next Yasmine Elabd, the next bright soul who knows exactly who they are. 💛

We give our all — time, effort, energy — trying to help them reach that dream.

But here’s the truth that took me a while to see…
The real drive has to come from inside them.

Confidence isn’t something we hand over.

It’s something they build — when they start believing in themselves, their voice, and their purpose.

That’s why our effort as mothers should go into building that inner fire:
✨ Teaching them to believe in their dream, even when others doubt them.
✨ Helping them see their strengths and grow them every single day.
✨ Letting them take the lead sometimes — so they learn to trust their own path.

Most fb mothers groups are flooded about Yasmine Elabd and her confidence at the GEM opening — and honestly, I’ impressed by how she is raised

She once said in a podcast that she started working when she was 10. Her parents saw her strength early, embraced it, and helped her nurture it.

She built her confidence on the deepest meaning in life — a sense of purpose. Not getting her worth from what she owns

She even chose homeschooling because she believed school hours would distract her from her dream.
She’s not attached to a school name or a community — she’s attached to her goal, and everything she does gets her closer to it.

That’s the kind of confidence we want our kids to have — one that comes from within, not from what they own or where they belong.

Sometimes I look at my kids and think… how can two little humans raised under the same roof be so different? 💛
One thrives on routine, the other needs time to warm up.
One listens the first time, the other needs a few gentle reminders (or ten).
And in those moments, I question myself —
“Am I doing something wrong? Should I parent them the same way?”
But here’s the truth I keep coming back to:
They’re not supposed to be the same.
They were never meant to fit into one parenting mold.
Each child needs a different kind of love, guidance, and patience.
And that doesn’t mean we’re inconsistent — it means we’re attuned. 💫
From one mom to another — you’re not failing. You’re learning each of your children, one day at a time. ❤️

“Either you’re at your desk tomorrow… or you’ll be sued.”

This was the actual phone call I got.
I still remember where I was standing. My heart dropped. My hands shook.
And in that moment—I knew something had to change.

Like most Egyptian girls growing up in the late 1980’s, my life came with a checklist.
✅ A respectable degree
✅ A good corporate job
✅ Stability. Security. Image.

I followed it all.
Worked in corporates for 13 years. I moved across departments—customer service, credit, operations. I learned. I grew. I met incredible people.

But deep down… I was never happy.
There was no spark. No meaning.
I kept asking myself: Is this it?

After having my first baby, I took unpaid leave and launched a small business with my cousin. It was successful—financially. But again… no fulfillment.
So I went back to corporate. Because it felt safe. Because that’s what I was taught to do.

Then I had my second child.
And something in me shifted.
I was constantly torn between being a good mom, doing my job, showing up as a wife, a daughter, a friend… and I felt like I was failing at all of them.
That’s when I said: No more.

I wanted to build something for mothers like me.
For the women who give everything to everyone and still feel it’s not enough.
For those who are trying to raise grounded, emotionally healthy kids—without losing themselves in the process.

That’s how RAYU was born.
Named after the two little souls who changed my life: Ryan and Yunis.

And just as things started to feel real… I got that call.
Return to your desk—or be sued.

I was still reeling from personal loss—months away from losing both of my parents.
They were my safety net. My definition of security.

But I chose to walk away.
Not because I wasn’t scared.
But because I was finally choosing myself.
My values. My purpose. My truth.

And maybe… just maybe… that phone call wasn’t a threat.
It was a gift.

BACK TO SCHOOL

New beginings have it’s excitments and challenges, here are some tips to guide your kids and to help them sustain a healthy enviroment through welcoming others and being part of their community

1. Welcome new comers
Foster your kids empathy by encouraging them to welcome new comers through saying something nice or even just offering a smile

2.To be kind and respectful
Encourage them to speak kindly and watch their words as some kids might be more sensitive than others

3.Create a safe space for conversations
Encourage them to respect other kids feelings and not to make fun out of it

And above all always remind them that uou will be missing them
