In adults with hypertriglyceridemia (150-499 mg/dL) with CVD or who are at higher risk for ASCVD, the use of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) (icosapent ethyl [IPE]) is suggested in addition to statins. However, the use of EPA plus docosahexanoic acid (DHA) in addition to statin therapy is not suggested in adults with hypertriglyceridemia (150-499 mg/dL) with CVD or who are at elevated risk of for CVD.
