By preserving bone bulk and compacting it into the walls of the osteotomy, you can create a stable, custom fit for any implant. In a 2014 study, trabecular bone compaction produced during the osseodensification technique with Densah® Burs was found to produce spring-back recovery. This allows bone to integrate into the implant threads, making every osteotomy a custom fit to any implant system. Utilizing the biomechanical properties of bone, osseodensification was also shown to enhance primary stability and increased bone to implant contact compared to standard and extraction drilling.

For optimal outcomes, we recommend Densah® Burs be replaced after about 20 uses. A 2024 study done by Nikolaos Soldatos, et al. showed that after 23 osteotomies, statistically significant temperature changes were found, and bur chatter was drastically increased due to dull and overused burs. Avoid dull bur complications by replacing your Densah® Burs after 20 uses to keep your patients safe and optimize your clinical results!
