Yoga is...
It feels that sometimes we are losing track of the true essence of yoga, of the practice, and the wisdom of the practice.
The big question then is: what is yoga exactly? There is a huge misconception that yoga is just about sitting down, cross-legged, in silence. While this is a part of it, or at some point you will find yogis sitting meditating; there is so much more. There are 8 limbs of yoga, the physical practice is only one part of this.
To me, yoga is about slowing down. Getting a connection with yourself again. Really starting to listen to yourself, through your own breath and finding what is good for you. I think this connection is starting to disappear in the modern world. By managing to master the physical asanas (postures), you bring yourself to the present moment. There should be a total focus during the practice, focus on the mind, body, soul, and breath. You can and will start to see progress, when you keep your focus on the activity at hand and when you keep practicing.
I invite you to become aware, focus and breath... namaste Gaby
