ختام فعاليات الأسبوع الثالث من برنامج التدريب بالصيدلية التعليمية لطلاب المجموعة الأولى –مستوى ثالث ببرنامج(فارم دى) الصيدلة الإكلينيكية بكلية الصيدلة – جامعة طنطا.

خلال هذا البرنامج التدريبي والذى استمر لمدة ٣ أسابيع تحت رعاية الأستاذة الدكتورة/منى عبد الحميد الأعصر عميد الكلية تم تقديم سلسلة من المحاضرات والورش العملية داخل الصيدلية التعليمية بالكلية

مع فريق العمل بمركز معلومات الدواء والسموم(الماجيستير./ مى موسى، ص./ مروة السيد، ص./ نهله الديب، ص./ محمد خالد) ، والدكتورة/رانيا كمال, مدرس التكنولوجيا الصيدلية بالكلية ومجموعة من الموضوعات المتنوعة :

🌱 Nutraceuticals: Bridging Food and Medicine

Nutraceuticals are products derived from food sources that provide health benefits beyond basic nutrition. They can help prevent chronic diseases, boost immunity, and improve overall well-being.

Examples include:

Omega-3 supplements, probiotics, vitamins, and herbal extracts.

🔑 Benefits:

🌿 Cancer Vaccines: A New Way to Fight Cancer

Most of us know vaccines protect against infections like measles or chickenpox. But did you know some vaccines are now designed to help the immune system fight cancer?

🔹What are cancer vaccines?

They are lab-made treatments that train the body’s natural defenses to recognize and attack cancer cells. Some are for prevention (like the HPV vaccine), while others are for treatment (called therapeutic cancer vaccines).

🔹 How do they work?

Therapeutic vaccines can:
* Keep cancer from coming back 🔄
* Destroy leftover cancer cells after treatment. 🧬
* Stop tumors from growing or spreading. 🚫

🔹 Examples of approved vaccines:

* Sipuleucel-T (Provenge): for advanced prostate cancer.

* BCG therapy: for early bladder cancer, using a weakened bacterium.

* Nadofaragene firadenovec (Adstiladrin): a gene-based therapy for bladder cancer.

* BCG therapy: for early bladder cancer, using a weakened bacterium.

Possible side effects:

- Common: fever, chills, fatigue, nausea, headache.
-Rare but serious: breathing problems, high blood pressure, or allergic reactions.

🔹 Why don’t they work for everyone?

* Cancer cells can “hide” from the immune system
* Large/advanced tumors are harder to target
* Weaker immune systems (older age, illness, or other treatments) respond less strongly

🔹 Future of cancer vaccines:

Researchers are exploring new approaches like mRNA technology and combining vaccines with other treatments, such as checkpoint inhibitors, to make them even more effective. 🔬

💡 Cancer vaccines bring hope, opening the door to better, more personalized treatments in the fight against cancer.

تحت رعاية السيدة أ.د/ منى عبدالحميد الأعصر عميد كلية الصيدلة جامعة طنطا، انطلقت بمركز معلومات الدواء والسموم بالكلية ختام فاعليات الأسبوع الثانى من البرنامج التدريبى لطلاب المجموعة الأولى بالمستوى الثالث ببرنامج بكالوريوس الصيدلة (فارم دى) (الصيدلة الإكلينيكية) وذلك يوم الخميس الموافق 4 سبتمبر 2025، جاء ذلك بالتنسيق والتعاون بين قطاع شئون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة وقطاع شئون التعليم والطلاب تحت إشراف أ.د/ نجلاء الشيتانى وكيل الكلية لشئون التعليم والطلاب

🚨 FDA Approves First-in-Class Therapy for Fibromyalgia

The FDA has approved cyclobenzaprine HCl sublingual tablets (Tonmya™, Tonix Pharmaceuticals), the first new fibromyalgia therapy in over 15 years.

🔹 Indication: Adults with fibromyalgia
🔹 Dosing: Once-daily at bedtime
🔹 Mechanism: Targets nonrestorative sleep, a key driver of pain, fatigue, and cognitive dysfunction

Key Evidence (Phase 3 Trials – RELIEF & RESILIENT):

✔ Significant reduction in daily pain scores at 14 weeks vs placebo
✔ ≥30% pain improvement in a greater proportion of patients after 3 months
✔ Generally well tolerated – most common AEs: oral discomfort, dry mouth, canker sores, fatigue, drowsiness
