Nutrigenomics Institute

Nutrigenomics Institute Institute of Nutrigenomics invites you to discover the latest developments around Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenetics.
(1)

That is why we have designed the most advanced and updated courses 100% online The Nutrigenomics Institute is an organization whose mission is to disseminate the disciplines of Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenetics aimed at both individuals and professionals. It has world-class experts in Nutrigenomics trained in the leading research universities in this field. The Training department is headed by Dr. David de Lorenzo, one of the largest international specialists with extensive experience in international research as in Houston or Munich. The Nutrigenomics Institute team is also formed by specialists in commercial and customer management services to provide the best experience and customer care, supported by the latest technological advances in online training. Our Nutrition is, probably, the main risk factor for our health when it comes to getting the most dangerous diseases of all those to which we are exposed to.

The new US food pyramid (2025-2030): a historic change in nutritional guidance🧐

The United States has unveiled a new version of its food pyramid as part of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2025-2030 , an official document that redefines the nation’s nutritional recommendations for the next five years. This strategy represents a significant departure from previous guidelines and a renewed focus on real, nutritious food .

Our internal clock: genetics and chronotype 🧐

What is chronotype ?⏰

Chronotype is the individual manifestation of your circadian rhythms: your natural tendency to sleep and wake up, and to be more active at certain times of the day. There are people with morning chronotypes (early birds), evening chronotypes (night owls) , and those with intermediate chronotypes. ( Wikipedia )

What role does genetics play in chronotype?

Genetics plays a significant role in determining your chronotype. Twin studies and large genome analyses have shown that approximately up to half of the variation in chronotype between individuals can be explained by genetic factors.

Nutrigenomics and liver diseases: what we know (with evidence)🧐

Why the liver is a “nutrigenomic territory”
The liver integrates signals from macronutrients , alcohol , microbiota , hormones , and inflammatory status , translating all of this into changes in gene expression , lipid/carbohydrate metabolism, oxidative stress, and tissue repair. Therefore, the “diet ↔ genes ↔ liver” relationship is especially potent in conditions such as MASLD/NAFLD , fibrosis , and, in the long term, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) .

Genetics and anti-aging: what genes (really) say about living longer and aging better. 🧐
The term “anti-aging” is frequently used, but in science, the terms longevity (living longer) and healthspan (living longer with good physical and cognitive function) are more common . Genetics plays a role , yes, but it’s not destiny : in humans, longevity is a polygenic trait , with many small effects, and is highly modulated by lifestyle and environment. Even so, research has identified genes and biological pathways that are repeated time and again.

Genetics and sport: a sport for every genetic makeup?⚽️

Athletic performance doesn’t depend solely on training: there is scientific evidence that genes play a significant role . According to a review, more than 200 genetic variants have been associated with physical performance.
However, there is no “magic variant” : rather, many genes , each with a small contribution, can together influence traits such as strength, endurance, power, aerobic capacity, etc.
In addition to genes, environmental factors—training, nutrition, motivation, lifestyle, social environment, and resources—play a fundamental role.

Genetics and Macular Degeneration: Understanding the Influence of DNA on Vision Loss.🧐

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a progressive eye disease that affects the macula—the central region of the retina responsible for sharp, detailed vision—and is one of the leading causes of irreversible vision loss in people over 60 worldwide. Although factors such as smoking, diet, and lifestyle play a role, genetics has been recognized as one of the most significant determinants in the development and progression of the disease.
