Within Nutritional Science there is a term known as Homeostasis, this is the Body's tendency to always work toward maintain a stable, functional equilibrium.

This careful balance is what we call Health
Remember the Body's Natural State is to be HEALTHY!

That's why Nutrition, viewed Holistically, is the crucial factor in Health. When we eat the right foods, our bodies naturally tend toward Homeostasis.

2 Fresh Banananas
1 Frozen Banana
1 Cup Frozen Blueberries

MIND BLOWING FACT

If the world’s population ate as much meat per person as the UK, America and Australia - we would need FIVE NEW PLANETS the size of earth to sustain it!

In order to keep up with the world's demand for meat and animal products, over 80,000 acres of tropical Rain Forest is being destroyed EACH DAY.

Also it takes approximately 14000 Litres of water to produce just ONE KILOGRAM of beef. That’s enough drinking water for one person for nineteen years!!

BUT THERE IS A SOLUTION...
All of these problems can be fixed by switching to a plant based diet - Growing plants uses significantly less land, less fuel, and less water than growing animal products.

Just by giving up meat for ONE DAY is enough to save the equivalent daily water usage of 9 people!

By following a plant based diet we free up the valuable resources we need to feed the world and keep our planet alive.

As it stands a third of all farm land on the planet is used to grow food for factory farmed animals. These animals eat enough to feed 9 billion people, more than the entire world population.

Imagine how many problems we could solve if we stopped factory farming animals and used this land to grow food for people instead?

TOP TIP WHEN CONSUMING CITRUS FRUITS

Citrus Fruits are an Antioxidant Powerhouse and are packed full of Vitamin C. Although Acidic in Nature, Citrus Fruits have an alkalizing effect on the Body when consumed.

If you´re not a fan of eating citrus fruits then Lemon Water is a great addition to any morning routine. It rehydrates the body and makes you feel fresh.

BUT, the initial acidity in the mouth can cause damage to the Enamel on your teeth so be sure to use it sparingly - Half a Lemon to 1 Litre of Water is sufficient.

My top tip is to swirl your mouth out with water after drinking but DO NOT brush your teeth as this can damage the already vulnerable Enamel even more.

THERE IS NO VEGAN AGENDA...

Instead there is people suddenly realising that the food they once ate, the food that they thought was healthy, the food that came from "happy animals" is not what it seems.

They realise the pain and suffering the animal goes through, they watch the videos of the slaughterhouse practices, they research the health implications of consuming too much animal protein and they learn the environmental costs to the Planet.

They know as compassionate people, as people who say they love animals and are against animal cruelty, that this can't continue to happen.

Naturally they feel angry, naturally they feel upset and hurt, and so naturally they want to tell the people they care about the most about this new information, their family and friends.

But CHANGE is hard, habits are difficult to break.
No one wants to listen, no one wants to be "preached to", no one wants the message "shoved down their throats". Maybe people aren't ready to be awoken yet, maybe some people like being asleep.

It then becomes a personal journey, one of focusing on yourself and being the best you can be. You realise you have to be the EXAMPLE, you have to be the change, you have to INSPIRE...

You Train, You Eat, You Learn, You Live

Then the people start to take notice, they start to ask questions, they see there might be more to this "Vegan Thing".

You realise if you can have a positive influence on just one person then you've made a difference and that's enough.

That's the Message I want to share :)

But where do you get your Protein from?
Won't you be Protein Deficient without eating Meat?

This is an age old question when discussing a Plant Based / Vegan Diet and its one I love answering :)

The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for Protein is a modest 0.6-0.8 Grams per Kilogram of Body Weight.
(The RDA is the amount of a nutrient you need to meet your basic nutritional requirements)

Let's say I am 72kg - that means to meet my daily requirements I need to consume 57.6g of Protein.

In one cup of Chickpeas (200g) alone, there is 39g of Protein!!

Trust me, as long as you are eating enough calories on a WFPB Diet, it's virtually impossible to be Protein Deficient
