Palm Sunday has passed and Semana Santa is officially in full swing across the whole of Spain.

If you’re new here, this might feel completely different from what you’re used to in your home country. Because Easter in Spain isn’t about chocolate eggs or cozy brunches.

Here it’s all about tradition, emotion and atmosphere. Think long processions moving slowly through the streets.The sound of drums echoing at night. People dressed in traditional robes. And entire towns coming together. 🥳

It might not be something for you personally. But if you really want to experience Spain and its culture on a deeper level, this is definitely a ‘fiesta’ that you want to attend.

Every mid March, the city transforms into one big celebration of art, fire, music and tradition. Giant sculptures fill the streets, fireworks light up the sky and the atmosphere is simply unforgettable.

For many expats living in this region, Las Fallas is one of those moments that truly makes you feel the culture of Spain. Loud, vibrant, a little chaotic for sure. But also absolutely magical.
