I’ll be honest, when we start working on your skin health together, and let’s say you have moderate or Grade 2/3 acne - I probably won’t dive straight into treating the acne specifically.
First, we’ll work on healing the skin barrier and allowing it to do what it does best which is protect the skin and allow the skin to communicate its needs to deeper layers and the skin’s dedicated immune cells. This will take a good few months of consistency with your bespoke blended skincare and check in facials. During facials we’ll for sure lean on LED and high frequency to starve the acne of bacteria that can fuel it.
When the skin barrier is much more happy and the communication from the skin’s upper layer means that any immune response and inflammation has calmed down (and the skin is naturally more healthy) we’ll treat any remaining acne more specifically then. It will likely be a different severity from when you first come in and so if we do enlist the help of Salicylic Acid (which gets a lot of the headlines when treating acne), it will be at a much more gentle concentration than is required to treat severe acne.
Healthy skin isn’t achieved overnight, but it’s 100% worth the journey.
Skin barrier health = skin health.
