Dr. Erik Thimansson has been working at TMC since 2010 and is researching quite interesting topics, about AI applications in MRI Prostate and prostate cancer screening. Therefore, we had an interview with him about his publication:

Last week TMC was present at the ISS 49th Annual Musculoskeletal Diagnostic Meeting. It was a great conference and even more so because it was just across the street from our Barcelona office in the Hotel Arts. Many familiar faces and also new interesting connections.

"Jag heter Kasim Abul-Kasim, docent och överläkare i radiologi och neuroradiologi. Jag har arbetat för TMC-neuroradiologisektionen sedan 2012. Jag hade också möjligheten att arbeta på TMC-kontoret i Barcelona under ett par månader 2020 innan pandemin tvingade mig att arbeta hemifrån from min bostad i Barcelona resten av året jag tillbringade i Barcelona. Att arbeta med TMC med distans- granskning ger mig friheten att planera min dag som den passar mig, vilket gör det möjligt för mig att t.ex. ta paus, gå på gym, vara ute och utöva andra fysiska aktiviteter, träffa mina barn och vänner och äta lunch tillsammans eller helt enkelt fixa ärenden jag annars inte hinner med. Dessutom har vi bra teamwork på TMC trots att vi sitter på olika platser i världen med möjlighet att diskutera fall och/eller ha utbildningsronder på Teams. TMC har dessutom fantastisk administrative personal som alltid står till förfogande och hjälper till och fixar det som radiologen behöver för att utföra ett bra arbete."

Unilabs, the leading diagnostic services provider, announced a partnership with Qure.ai, a market leader in medical artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. Through this partnership, Unilabs will be deploying Qure’s AI solution to aid in the classification of chest X-rays into normal and abnormal exams. The solution will initially be implemented and piloted in Unilabs TMC’s Elective UK Service arm to help increase the capacity and optimise radiology workflow.

CT perfusion, along with CT angiography (CTA), can be a very important adjunct when treating strokes as opposed to conventional unenhanced CT brain imaging. Dr. Emily Clewett, Head of Section of Emergency Radiology Scandinavia, and the emergency senior clinical advisor for the AI Centre of Excellence has led her team to include CT perfusion in the routine workout of stroke patients for selected client hospitals in Sweden. TMC UK exhibited at the 11th National Radiology Managers conference in London on 19th May. This was the first time since the pandemic that we have seen some of our clients in real life! Despite the situation in the UK with scanning and reporting capacity shortages, there was a real buzz amongst the delegates who were also delighted to be out seeing people again! TMC participated with a whole team: Lesley Harmes, Artane Tonia Haxhilari, Gareth Davies, Mark Surtees, Benjamin Barling and Matthew Ginder. It was great to be out and see clients again and we’re looking forward to the next congress in June ( ).
