The ICFO Organization and Network of Students (ICONS) Apart from them, our home institute ICFO offers us support to develop our activities.

The ICFO Organization and Network of Students (ICONS) is composed mainly by PhD students that promote optics and photonics within the general public, but also pursues activities for the professional development of its members. We are consolidated as Student Chapter of important institutions in the field of optics and physics as the OPTICA (formerly OSA), the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) and the European Physical Society (EPS).

Our amazing guests shared their passionate views on our responsibilities as scientists in tackling the climate crisis. 🌱 It was inspiring to see how different scientific fields are coming together to fight for a sustainable future!

Last week ICONS attended the EPS Young Minds Leadership Meeting in Naples.
It was amazing to meet so many other student chapters! The activities they organize are having a great impact inside mad outside the student community.
We also want to congrat the PONYS (Naples student chapter), that made and heroic effort to organize everything, and made us feel like home.
See you again next year! 🤗

Thank you to everyone that attended the workshop on plastic recycling, given by !
We wanted to bring awareness on the amount of plastic that we produce in our labs. Hopefully it will serve as a kick off for future actions on sustainability! 💥🌍
