YOGA - is not the practice of asanas. People who think that, do not understand that Yoga is the Illumination of Truth and your duty to spread it.

Yoga is bringing your unconscious state into the
present realm of extreme consciousness. Most people walk through life, asleep.

The practice of asanas is only to aid the process of achieving a heightened state of mental clarity like you've never had before. That is why we practice asanas. So that when the body is tired, the mind begins to open and THINK.

We must exhaust the body first. Liken this to a high level athlete. An Olympian uses their body on a daily basis but once they tire themselves out, they reconnect with their emotional state in a series of reflections that can shape their character. Until then, they are nothing more than a machine, going through repetitive motions, with little emotion or heart to the world around them. That’s the majority of people who just attend yoga class, without really contemplating why they are there.

Once you are enlightened, you cannot help but speak the truth and notice the lies around you. True enlightenment is when you begin to focus less on your physical state and more on the mental one. You can’t achieve enlightenment though, by avoiding asanas or just meditating, because enlightenment requires discipline through both. You will notice that with time, as you enter the various stages of enlightenment, that the asanas will be less important and that your peaceful mind will rule your actions in life. You begin to separate the mind, your identity, from the body. You might let yourself go physically, because the mind is strong. That is a good thing. True yogis do very little asanas.

That’s when you become a good person and notice the evil around you. So, speak about it. Hide nothing. Don’t protect those who don’t deserve protecting. Don’t gatekeep those who do you wrong.

This realisation will set you free.

Spanish version is below.

Let me publish why I hate living in the Basque region as someone who has Basque blood but whose first language is English, and to the untrained eye, I look more Asian than Eurasian, for those who have never travelled extensively. If I had not purchased my properties here, I would be long gone. It is a fascist, conservative and racist part of the country ( Spain is racist as a whole, regardless ), and I do not encourage anyone to invest here, as you will only suffer and get frustrated at the ignorance of the people. As a journalist who has lived in 7 countries around the world, this is the most racist country I have ever lived in, and I never felt people were racist against me in other countries, apart from Japan. This is how sad Spain really is, because unless you are white, you will be met with racism on a daily basis and I heard that this is more pronounced in the Basque and Catalan regions, of which the latter is more Italian than Spanish, in my opinion.

Even the foreign groups on Facebook based in San Sebastian, or Bilbao like 'Expats in Bilbao' and 'Expats in San Sebastian,' are run by racist and supremist white people, such as immigrant Americans and Russians and every other nationality who thinks they know Spanish culture, but are clueless to it. It is obvious that they use the groups to act as they are the fountain of knowledge on Basque culture and the way the city works but it's clear that most of them have not even taken a bus. Would you trust someone who just comes to live here with their overseas money but has no interest in assimilating into the local culture? All the expats do is hang amongst themselves, talking vacuous things over cups of coffee and beer. I wouldn't say the immigrant population of white people here are of a high quality at all.

Even Basque people join these groups to monitor what the immigrants say, like fascists themselves, and the 'immigrants' are not even 'Expats' because most have come here married to a Basque or invested their American money into property or don't actually work - maybe just as a housewife. So, they are 'immigrants,' because 'Expats' implies that you actually were transferred here for a job. So the real name of the group should be 'White Immigrants of San Sebastian who have started this Facebook group in order to appear an expert in living in San Sebastian but actually have no idea what Basque culture is, because I just hang out with my other white immigrant friends and drink, eat and take drugs together and pass the meaningless existence of my life here with them.'
==========
Si no hubiera comprado mis propiedades aquí, me habría ido hace mucho.

Pope Francis has passed away today, Easter Monday. May he rest in Peace. Please watch this movie for the possibilities of the future of the Catholic Church. Perhaps it’s time some changes are made.

~ Welcome Home. In 2018, I spent a year travelling and practicing yoga. I also took my 300 hour teacher training in Asia. At the time, I had taken my 200 hours training, in 2009 and another 140 hours in 2014. I’m now over 600 hours certified.

That year, my journeys took me to India, Spain, Hong Kong and France, just to study the Iyengar Method in more detail but my certification this time, through Yoga Alliance, would be in Alignment using Iyengar Principles. I had previously been certified in Anusara Vinyasa, Hot and Aerial too.

In India, I bought my Ganesha. He was delivered to me on a rickety scooter, lying delicately on the part where the driver normally rests his feet. He was made of translucent marble - like an Indian Carrara - and ...I thought he would break from the vibrations but miraculously, he survived.

I then carried him lovingly wrapped in bubble wrap , cello tape and a jute sack to Bombay airport, on a 5 hour journey. They insisted I put him through the customs x-ray machine and that’s when his delicate halo broke. I was mortified. A man who owned a shop selling silk clothing, kindly re-wrapped him again for me, to continue the journey back to Hong Kong. There, he sat in his wrapping for another 9 months before I could bring him back to Spain, after I finished my arduous training that year.

He has been around the world with me. Since Covid struck, Ganesha sat in my studio in Spain, next to my white Buddha, both greeting and supporting students in their practice.

Finally, last week, we mended his halo. We used superglue and melted wax and brought him back to life again. We completed him once more.

I am forever blessed and grateful to find my white elephant ~ the calm and wise amongst the chaos that our world is going through right now. He keeps me grounded and focused on what needs to be achieved. A silent but constant reminder of how far there is still to go.
