A gentle lactic acid peel is included in every facial treatment to optimise results 🧡*

🔸 What is lactic acid?
Lactic acid is a hydrating alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) commonly derived from milk, but there are alternative vegan sources, like fermented corn starch, beets, and other sugar-rich foods. Synthetic forms of this ingredient are often found in peels and serums.

🔸 What does lactic acid do for skin?
Lactic acid brightens, smooths, and evens skin, while also making it look firmer. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots.

🔸 What are the benefits?
Lactic acid brightens dullness, smooths, and evens skin, while also making it look firmer. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots.

🔸 How does it work exactly?
It exfoliates by loosening the bonds between dead skin cells to reveal a more radiant complexion.

*Unless the skin condition is compromised I.E sensitised or wounded

So you exfoliated too hard or picked your skin and now it’s suffering from inflammation. Don’t panic, it happens to everyone. But what do you do?

🔸 Stop exfoliating. Your skin barrier is compromised and needs time to heal itself
🔸 Although actives are amazing for the skin, when it’s been sensitised it can lead to more discomfort and inflammation. That means no retinols, no vitamin C, and no acids!
🔸 Sun exposure is more likely to lead to permanent damage during inflammation. Protect your skin from all hazards, including environmental ones.
🔸 Unless they’ve been recently washed, our hands accumulate bacteria throughout the day and we don’t want to add them on top of already weakened skin. It can worsen your skin and lead to infection.
🔸Lastly, minimise your skincare routine! A cleanser, moisturiser and SPF are all you need. Other products can overstimulate the skin and cause further inflammation. Go back to the basics.

Boys & Girls, listen. Your products won’t work without sunscreen.

Our skin works hard to protect us from harmful ultraviolet radiation. Sun cream is an extra shield to protect us from pigmentation, ageing and skin cancer - Even on cloudy days our skin is susceptible to damaging UV sun rays.

REMEMBER:
🧡 Reapply sun cream throughout your day
🧡 Ensure you are using UVA & UVB proof cream
🧡 Use a water resistant formula when going in water or during excessive sweating
🧡 Wear hats, sunglasses and UV protective clothing when possible
🧡 Avoid sun cream with the ingredient Oxybenzone because it destroys our coral reefs

Want more info on which sunscreen is best suited for you? DM me for a mini consultation and a personalised suggestion
