Piedra Playa, also known as El Aljibe de la Cueva, is located in the northwest of Fuerteventura and has a beach over 1 kilometer long, where sand and large rocks meet.⁠
⁠
Located in a very untouched environment, very close to El Cotillo, it is popular with water sports enthusiasts, such as surfers and kitesurfers.⁠
⁠
It is quite isolated and can only be reached from El Cotillo via off-road trails. From .working it takes just 15 to 20 min on foot.⁠

🥥🧠 "Coco" in the colloquial Spanish language means "head" or "brain." That is why in Cocoworking we are happy when people use their heads, or their "Coco," to develop a project by offering them our space as a meeting point where they can discuss it and our channels to promote it. This is where the idea "Show Your Coco" came from, a column where we will showcase projects born or discussed in Cocoworking and the people behind them.

This is Mehdi, a French-Moroccan guy who moved to Fuerteventura more than 1 year ago as a remote worker. During our networking event "Fuerteventura Dreamers: what else is possible?" he introduced us to his developing project .surf .⁠

"Gonna.surf is a project helping surfers visiting or living in Fuerteventura. It currently provides a beginner friendly surf forecast and will soon be extended with visual spot guides."⁠

We know how useful it is to exchange ideas with other entrepreneurs and that is why at .working we organize networking events where we can present, propose, discuss new projects to be developed locally or remotely.⁠

Remote working has never been more rewarding 👩🏼‍💻 ⁠

On behalf of our entire Cocommunity, we want to congratulate Elisa, our coworker of the month, on the journey she is on: for the past year she has been developing remotely from Fuerteventura, and with the help of .working, her project dedicated to women's wellness and health.⁠
⁠
"Underlying my work and my way of life, there is a deep desire to help women discover what is the model of life that really fulfills them, and finally freeing themselves from models and roles imposed by society. ⁠
I have dedicated the last few months to reshaping my work, creating Taste Of Wellness, my business project through which I do Personal Development with the help of Naturopathy, Hatha Yoga, and Life Coaching (I am currently a trainee coach).⁠
Most of my behind-the-scenes activities have taken place at Cocoworking, where thanks to the quiet but warm and welcoming atmosphere, I have been able to focus and unleash my creativity.⁠
When I write, I need to feel relaxed, comfortable, and not be disturbed, which is why I prefer to go to Coco when I am working on my texts. An added value? Definitely the smell of wood that promotes my concentration."⁠

🚨 : waves are coming! 🌊🌊🌊⁠ ⁠

El Cotillo is slowly but surely establishing itself as the surf hub of Fuerteventura. It’s got access to a pretty great beach break on the south side of the town. There, the waves change from mushy ankle burners for the groms and learners in the summer months to pretty glassy sets of left-to-right A-frame peaks that can be very fast and even hollow on big winter storm days. That comes coupled with some remoter beaches to the south and to the north, along with one epic harbor break that’s got serious teeth. It’s a versatile place to hit the waves.⁠
⁠
Mainly, though, we think El Cotillo stands out because of the quality of its surf schools and surf rentals. They are among the best in the whole Canaries and they have access to breaks where the vibe is way more chilled than, say, Palma or Tenerife. On top of that, the chilled town offers oodles of cute little surf rentals for couples and groups, along with a few boutique hotels that are within walking distance of the waves. It’s a solid choice for surfing in Fuerteventura!⁠
