And definitely not with a mix of methods and hope.

Hear me out … Most women were told they could get pregnant any day of their cycle, which made taking the pill every day feel like the only “safe” choice. (Positioning)

When I woke up this morning I was honestly on two minds about heading out.

If you track your cycle you know the luteal phase can make you feel way more “nesty” and less social.

Part of me really just wanted to stay home.

But I went anyway and I’m so glad I did. Sunshine, a walk by the sea, tapas, and meeting a friend.

Let’s be honest.
A lot of women are out here using “pull out and pray” as birth control.

Not because they want to.

Because no one ever showed them another option.

School taught us how to avoid pregnancy in theory. But almost nothing about how fertility actually works in real life.

So women end up relying on things like:
• period apps
• guessing “safe days”
• withdrawal
• pure luck

Meanwhile your body is giving you biological signals every single cycle that tell you when pregnancy is and isn’t possible.

Stop asking:
‘How do I fix my period?’ and start asking: ‘How do I ovulate well?’

Ovulation is an energy-intensive, hormone-dependent event.

If your body doesn’t feel safe, it won’t prioritize it.

Start here:
1️⃣ Eat enough.
Chronic undereating, low protein, and fear of carbs are common ovulation disruptors.
2️⃣ Reduce unnecessary stress load.
High cortisol and constant nervous system activation can delay or weaken ovulation.

If cervical mucus still confuses you, this is probably why.

Cervical mucus is one of the most powerful fertility biomarkers.
But only when you know what actually counts.

When you don’t know the difference between:
– vaginal cell slough
– arousal fluid
– ejaculate
– and true cervical mucus
You’re not really tracking.
You’re guessing.

And guessing feels manageable, until you’re relying on it to prevent pregnancy.

The cost of not knowing isn’t just confusion.
It’s:
• unnecessary anxiety
• misreading your fertile window
• false reassurance
• or avoiding intimacy “just in case”

Fertility awareness works.
But it works when it’s practiced with full understanding, not pieced together from scattered sources.
