The 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬‼️ did not come to make CPR more complicated. They came to make it even clearer what cannot fail:

𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐜 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫👀, start high-quality CPR, minimise interruptions as much as possible, and use the as early as possible.

Saving this carousel might not be a bad idea.

😮‍💨𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 remain one of the most poorly performed parts of CPR.

In adults, the sequence remains 𝟑𝟎 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟐 𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝟑𝟎:𝟐), and they are essential for oxygenation.

To perform them correctly, it is key 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 using the head tilt–chin lift manoeuvre, pinch the nose, seal the mouth, and deliver breaths while checking that the chest rises.

In 2026, the recommendations for responding to 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐬 have changed.

𝐈𝐟 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡, 𝐜𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞, this is what you should do:

👉🏽Place the baby 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 on your forearm or thigh, with the head lower than the body, and give 𝟓 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 using the heel of your hand.

👉🏽If the object does not come out, 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤, keeping the head lower than the body, and 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝟓 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, pressing down around 4 to 5 centimetres.

𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝟓 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬 + 𝟓 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐬 until the baby starts to breathe, cough or cry. If you are alone or the baby does not improve, 📞𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝟏𝟏𝟐.

⚠️ Do not put your finger blindly into the baby’s mouth. Only remove the object if you can clearly see it.
