Hello lovely,
How do we stay calm when there’s chaos going on around us? How do we stay centred when our world or the world feels like it’s falling apart? Where is the solid ground here - is there any at all?
The Buddhist teachings on impermanence and the fact that this experience we call life is continually unfolding, never the same from moment to moment - the illusion of sameness, of consistency is just that - an illusion - so why are we so attached to nailing things down, to controlling outcomes? Our need for certainty in an ever changing experience of life is understandable - but where do we find the balance?
Presence - all the Buddhist teachings point to it - being present in the moment, to what is, and not ‘arguing’ with reality, seems to be the key. So how do we do this?
How do we become present when our minds and bodies are literally telling us that it’s not safe to do so - that it’s not safe to stop, to take time, to experience the moment - that we must continue, otherwise we won’t ‘get it all done’ or we won’t get what we need, let alone what we want. How do we step off the merry-go-round?
Well, neuroscience, polyvagal theory and the trauma healing field now highlight that ancient practices such as mindfulness and yoga can deeply support us in reconnecting with ourselves and the present moment even amidst the storms of life.
Tools like yoga, breathwork and mindfulness are invaluable for helping the nervous system move out of anxiety, fear or overwhelm and back into the present moment. These practices also support our natural capacity for connection, helping us feel safe with ourselves and with others. From this place of safety we can experience what polyvagal theory describes as ‘social engagement’, the kind of presence and connection that brings trust, ease and a sense of belonging.
This is what has called me to create the community offering, ‘Heal & Restore’. It builds on the Free Healing Call, keeping the personal, group connection and energy healing elements, while also bringing in some gentle yoga movement and practices.
If you’d like to join me, we meet tomorrow at 10am CET / 9am UK time.
You can sign up here:

If you’re already signed up for the Free Healing Call, no need to sign up again, you’ll get the invitation to join anyway.
I look forward to gathering tomorrow, to come back to ourselves, to our bodies and the present moment together.
I hope to see you there,
With love always,
